Never mind, I guess the origins are a bit murky but the character itself didn’t come about until later

Re: One score questions: round two gross
1, 2, 10.: Fictional feline.
3, 4: Based on a real animal (not human) (meaning that the type of animal exists in the real world, and it could not be, e.g., a unicorn or phoenix).
5, 8, 9: Is not supernatural or mythological.
6, 12.: First introduced after 1900 AD.
7: First appeared in Europe.
11. Not first introduced in animation or a comic strip.
Pass: First introduced in a book
Not: a The Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland)
Edit: fixed something in the above

Re: One score questions: round two gross
Best-known appearance in a book?
If it was Cheshire Cat, the answer is yes. If it was Simba, who was technically first introduced in the script for a movie, not in the movie itself, the answer is no.
Sorry if this is too subjective.

scratch, of course it'd be too obvious, I missed the part where it was "not originated in a comic strip"
