I'll take these as a single question, since they are asking similar things and I was slow on answering them. Not a leader of one of these organizations, but I would say that the internal view of a particular national government is that the person was associated with some kind of "criminal, terrorist, or treasonist activity". (Your view may be different.)

“was associated”. I think it’s safe to assume our game master believes this person to be dead.
Re: Twenty questions: game 165
Is the "particular national government" mentioned in the previous response located in Eastern or Southeastern Asia based on the UN geoscheme?

Is the government we're talking about the People's Republic of China?

1, 2, 4, 9, 12. Real male human person born in Eurasia, but not in a place that's part of Southern Asia based on the UN geoscheme, or in a place that's currently part of the Council of Europe.
3. Became famous on 15 August 1951 or later.
5, 8, 11. Political figure, but not a current or former head of state or government of a sovereign state, and has not held national-level political offices for at least ten years.
6,14. First language not English, and not a Romance language either.
7. Not of Slavic nationality.
10. Noted for having gone missing, but isn't on the Wikipedia list of people who disappeared.
13. It has never been alleged that this this person was an impostor, or replaced by an impostor.
15, 16, 17. Not a leader of a terrorist or separatist organization, but the internal view of the government of the People's Republic of China would likely be that he was associated with some kind of criminal, terrorist, or treasonous activity.

I believe we're counting the two terrorist-related questions as one. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anonymity by ubiquity. There are so many disappeared Chinese dissidents, this will be hard.

I'll ask another question: is he known for advocating on behalf of an ethnic or religious minority within China?

Re: Twenty questions: game 165
I will give some New Year's hints.
1) Despite the pessimism in posts #53 and #56, I believe this person to be gettable.
2) I passed on a couple of questions earlier. There were more questions that I was only reasonably certain in my responses to, and not absolutely certain, because I do not know all of the biographical details about this person (but can presume a lot).

Re: Twenty questions: game 165
I’m more confused than ever that there’s a former politician with limited biographical information. Now I’m wondering if I’m making a false assumption about what qualifies as a ‘political figure’.
