Colonel Kurtz - Apocalypse Now
That’s it! You really grabbed that one out of the bag with some excellent deduction.

VillageIdiot takes the laurels. You can now start a new game if you wish.

If I do one of these I'll go for a cousin of the wife's ;).

Come to think of it, making it people we've met or are related to could make it more fun. My great great great great...(etc etc)... great grandfather was Robert the Bruce. He'd have been quite good.

... although not now, obviously

It’s one of Marlon Brando’s best known roles in a movie nominated for an Academy Award.

Really? I am a descendant of one of the folk that ended up part of the conglomeration of people that ended up as "Graham" in Braveheart... the big guy who threw rocks at Wallace.

That was less a critique of the chosen targets but more of a critique of my personal experience/knowledge.

If you could, cdngooner, could you please fix this line in the new OP:
Please choose real people or movie/TV/literary/video game/etc. characters that...
Just want to make it 100% clear that "character" is also to potentially encompass historical or famous people.

Mrs Oct's cousin is not Robert the Bruce, no. Good guess though :-)

As an additional clue they are neither a Bruce nor a de Brus nor any other Brucie variant.

Its up to Village Idiot to start a game, or pass it to a different successor. If we haven't heard from him by end of day, why don't you take it on, Kakarroto?

I imagine whenever the winner deems appropriate, unless they wish to nominate a successor.

Indeed not. No Bruce living or dead, be they giver of bonuses or otherwise. What we have here is a Bruce free zone, a Bruce Lee free zone, a zone of negative Kung Foo fighting potential. There are no Bruces
