At risk of dating myself, since when did we allow +1s to be a thing?

Also, since I should probably put up a vote ##vote Hellenic Riot. I don't think I've seen them post yet
Dating scene is getting rough eh?

This joke phase is worse than any I've seen before.
Why
Probably because people have been cooped up over the holidays/between terms/in the weird interstitial space between when normal social patterns end in mid-December and before they begin in mid-January. That in addition to the omicron wave has probably kept most people more inside than usual, which means less in-person interaction and more zoom interaction. The lack of engaging external activity leads to attempts to self-soothe with easy dopamine fixes, suppressing serotonin levels. The omicron surge echoing the early pandemic and first winter stresses out the subconscious, so baseline levels of cortisol and other stress hormones begin to rise and the adrenal medulla begins to tense up slightly. As a result, the id wants to act out, but the superego is too exhausted to really be effective anymore, leaving the job to the ego. The ego only has the rudimentary defense mechanisms of desperate humor and attention seeking, and the rest is left as an exercise to the reader.
Someone get this guy an invite to speak on Joe Rogan's podcast.

I haven't played a vanilla game in so long. How do we escape the joke phase again?
I'm used to bad setup analysis helping me want to kill people.

It's nice to see you changing out your usual attention seeking for a little desperate humour, Jamiet. Proud of you for growing as a person!

Durga will start talking about killing lurkers in the next 6-8 hours, I expect. Maybe that will help.

He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish. In the first forty days a boy had been with him. But after forty days without a fish the boy's parents had told him that the old man was now definitely and finally salao, which is the worst form of unlucky, and the boy had gone at their orders in another boat which caught three good fish the first week. It made the boy sad to see the old man come in each day with his skiff empty and he always went down to help him carry either the coiled lines or the gaff and harpoon and the sail that was furled around the mast. The sail was patched with flour sacks and, furled, it looked like the flag of permanent defeat. The old man was thin and gaunt with deep wrinkles in the back of his neck. The brown blotches of the benevolent skin cancer the sun brings from its reflection on the tropic sea were on his cheeks. The blotches ran well down the sides of his face and his hands had the deep-creased scars from handling heavy fish on the cords. But none of these scars were fresh. They were as old as erosions in a fishless desert.

Hello fellow townies and some evil bastards.

Well, I missed the game start and first night, probably not much. Anything I need to know before trying to catch up?

Also, what is wrong with the bot?

The bot is very unwell. Dargorygel has tried to cure it, but alas, the sickness runs deep. I think the vote count is correct, but the co-GM has that well covered in any case.

To far you've missed a lot of the usual shitposting, Foxcastle performing some kind of pseudo-intellectual psychoanalysis of said shitposters, an interesting exchange between Ghug and TheFlyingBoat that you should read for yourself, Goldfinger's problems with plumbing contractors and the dating scene, and some discussion about whether Michelle Obama owes a pizza to either Fluminator or Ghug.

Unless Ghug has improved a lot since I last played at being scum, I don't think it is scum theatre at all between him and TFB If it was itd be jokier and far more relaxed than Ghug's reaction. That to me shows more of a purpose and look to scum hunt than a scum ghug would have normally.

Actually, Ghug and Flum, did your bet stipulate that one specific Obama had to win three terms of office in the United States of America, or just three elections anywhere in the world?

Francisco Pascual Eyegue Obama has been Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea since 2016, so he might also be a possibility.
Wow the wikipedia make this person out to be not competent and there's like no info on him. not well written.

Thanks. Have been reading the shitposting and they have been....shit. At least until page 9.

Out of curiosity, why do you feel so scared?
it's exaggerated a bit for like ~comedic impact~ but i feel like in these type of games, especially in the early stage when people are looking for anything to start moving out of the shitposting phase, anything you say is liable to be picked apart. but i will persevere
Decent answer.

Well yes, when you first said it was a scum tell I had no idea how seriously you thought it was a scum tell so I didn't look particularly deep at the post at all and just responded lightheartedly as should be fairly obvious given the diction of the post. It was only after you asked me what I thought you thought was the scum tell that I realized that you were quite serious and not mostly meme-ing that I decided to apply some minor scrutiny to it and realized that you wouldn't like that I wasn't voting for someone based on NAI reasons.
Why'd it take you so long to think of this answer?
Because I am not just playing mafia right now? I'm also playing a World Diplomacy variant on Discord, talking about an MIT puzzle answer, and arguing with people on r/nfl as well. Further is 20 minutes really that long for one to check back into a thread and see a response to your message and then formulate another response even if I weren't doing other things? I feel that's not an unreasonable clip. If you're asking why I didn't just say this the first time, the obvious answer is that the impetus for my response was different given the different contexts the answers arose from.
I kinda like this TFB reaction.

Ayyy a fellow Warriors fan! Are you a Niners fan?
Oh, I see, it's something to do with Gridiron Football.
The Warriors are an NBA team. The Niners play football, correct.
