New strategy found - Meta gaming

#1 Post by Ginge86 » Mon Jul 17, 2023 3:37 pm

As it seems the moderators on this site no longer punish cheating. Who fancies joining me in a game, we can ally from day 1, kill off the whole board and when reported, the mods will ignore it anyway. It is the perfect crime.
Names below of who is in.

Is there a way to mute a player on the forum?

You won't need to, I doubt there will be any players left on this site soon. Other than the sad meta gaming losers of coarse
Surprised that the fact this site allows cheating doesn't bother more people.
I guess it won't until it affects them directly.
Just remember when that day comes, someone tried to fix it but you didn't want to hear it.

Here is the game, I have waited 2 weeks for the mods to make a decision and today they restart the game with no explanation. I will explain below why they are cheating. Maybe the player base can tell me what I am doing wrong.

Ok, so Libya, NE, Quebec and Europe are meta-gaming. It took me a whole 20 minutes to find the proof but in 2 weeks, clearly the moderators were unable to do so.

I will go through each nation now and add the proof here, then you guys can decide if I am talking shite, or we are on a site that no longer punishes cheating.

Quebec

Quebec has played 10 games in total
5/10 of the games are with Europe
7/10 are with Near East
The last game all 4 played, all 4 participated, 3 made the draw, which was a 3 way. And all worked together from day 1. the 4th was eliminated as they were too far for others to help. The game before that they tried but were killed.

Libya
3 games total
All 3 had Europe in
The other 2 had all 4 in
The last game was a 3way draw between them and 2 others, the 4th was eliminated as they were too far for others to help. The game before that they tried but were killed.

Near East
6 games total
All include Quebec
3 include Europe
The last game all 4 played, all 4 participated, 3 made the draw, which was a 3 way. And all worked together from day 1. the 4th was eliminated as they were too far for others to help.

Europe
This person has played a lot of games, they have a large number with the other 3 nations and the last one as mentioned was a 3 way draw in which all 4 participated, one was eliminated due to distance from other 3. he game before that they tried but were killed.

Everything I have said above is a FACT.
Who here believed, with all this evidence, that these 4 are not cheating?
If people look this up, please bear in mind I have removed AI games from the total, to ensure the stats I gave were accurate for actual games played against humans.

To the mods - if I have broken a rule here, so be it, clearly nobody is taking this seriously, so why should I.

I wonder what comes first, an actual response from one of the few moderators left on this site or my banning, for pointing out what a lot of you have already worked out for yourself.

No wonder all the decent players have left.

I will keep boosting until either a mod replies, the game in question is cancelled or I am banned from the site.
Lets see which one the mods choose. Should be interesting for everyone to see.

Do you have some for sale?

There is a high demand for them on this website, as recent activity suggests.

This used to be possible on the old Forum, but appears to not be a feature with the current Forum.

Actually, click the player's name in the forum, and then select "add foe".

Those are not proofs, just random suspicions. We use something a bit more sophisticated than that, if you don't mind.
Now you had your answers in private (I hadn't read this thread, otherwise I would have been less nice); please stop it.

Could there be a site rule clarification to state that cheating accusations can only be made in private to the mods?

Ginge has made a few unsubstantiated in-game accusations that have been game warping. Using the Forum to make accusations feels like subtle meta-gaming. I can't think of a reason why these sorts of requests should be aired in the open, nothing good comes from it.

6. Do not make public cheating accusations

Cheating accusations should not be made publicly on the forums, in games, or via PM. Instead, reports of potential cheating should be submitted using the in-game "Lodge cheating suspicion" button, underneath the votes section, with a specific summary of the situation and the players you believe are working around the rules.
There is a rule for that already.

Oh thanks for that! Yeah, maybe we can enforce this one...

The rule has always been there, it has been applied quite a few times in the past, and it will be in the future. In this case there were many factors to be considered; but I've been talking to Ginge and I'm confident this kind of shenanigans won't happen again.

So, imho the best thing we all can do now is to forget this thread and return to focusing on the actual goal of this site, which we should always remember is to have fun together
