This is cool.

Are spectators allowed to comment here or does that break the rule about discussing ongoing games?

Press limited games cannot be discussed

Technically the game wasn't press limited. It was Full Press, just not on webDip. The game has finished (I'll contact the TD so he'll press Draw), so feel free to comment.

Congrats to Chris Brand from Canada!

I'm confused. I don't play FTF. Do FTF games generally have a stop date (like Saturday at midnight or something) ?

The play was interesting to watch, but there is a lot of game left...

Yes, they generally have a stop date because they're live. It's normal to end somewhere between 1907-1910.

There was a lot of play left, except that everyone knew it would end at 1907.

Well, that isn't strictly speaking accurate. Most European tournament systems evolved to a fixed end somewhere in that range, but that isn't the case in the States or Australia. Many (most?) North American tournaments are set up for the games to be time-unlimited, with the game ending only when all surviving powers agree.

This does create some awkwardness occasionally, as a game will run well past midnight or throughout the afternoon and bump up against the subsequent round. Different TD's manage the situation in various ways.

Various clubs have different house rules for their games as well, due to the end of happy hour/ the pub they are playing in closing/ the host needing to go to work in the morning, kind of thing.
