This is Peregrine Falcon testing the new forum.
Might there be too many features? I for one enjoyed the minimalist nature of the current webDip forum.

Some of the features are wicked nice, such as being able to see previous posts while you are writing your reply.

A few too many emoticons flashing around in all directions, imho, though

O.9999999... = 1?

you guys are doing math equations. be simple no math use the <,>,= 1.0 is a whole number and 0.9999999... is not so therefore with NO MATH EQUATIONS it is not equal to 1. becuase 1.0 > 0.999999....... adding math equations it most likely will round it or actually make it so. but 0.9999999..... is not a whole number so it is not equal. Use simpler math like that.

Yup lots of features available, plus the ability to incorporate phpBB plugins if we wanted, but most of the functionality can also be disabled. I think it'll be good to ease into a more capable forum and see how it goes.

Zultar you should be able to log into the admin control panel, which I encourage you to do and to have a play with setting up moderators and forums etc.

I'm going to try to lock it. And maybe merge it.

Cool. I was able to lock the first thread and then merge with this one. I'm already abusing my forum powers!!! :twisted:

Good stuff, when setting up forums I would make sure to start with as few forums as possible and then expand if necessary, rather than creating too many categories and have dead forums.

Could be good to have sections for mods requests etc, live games, political discussions, Dip discussions, an anything goes forum, who knows?

@ ghug

Given that every two different real numbers have a real number in between them, if you think that 1 > 0.99999999...., could you name me one number that is bigger than 0.99999999...., but smaller than 1?

Did someone say equations?

1/3 = .33333333333333333333333333....
3/3 = 1
.33333333333... * 3 = .9999999999999999999999... = 3/3 = 1

Trado's message #19 shows that you need to introduce invisible breaking characters for words longer than 60 chars...
