Well, clearly they exist in your mind and the minds of millions of others. The word "Leprechaun" conjures up a shared mental image in the way the word splarent doesn't. You may well meet one in a dream, and the question becomes how real is a dream?

And in a universe as vast as ours, ignoring for a moment the possibilities of other universes, the chances of there never existing some creature that so closely resembles the idea of a Leprechaun that it may be identified as such if observed by a human... well, that strikes me as unlikely.

Let's just note for future reference that Fluminator and Octavious believe in leprechauns.

Evolution on this planet produced humans. I could definitely see it producing a race similar to us but shorter (and still obsessed with gold) on another lol.

Let's just note for future reference that Jamie believes that a race of short sentient lifeforms is impossible. Do you have membership of the flat earth society, by any chance?

I think "leprechaun" means more than "short person", or are you saying you think everyone under 5ft tall is a leprechaun?

How does one look Irish?

They have been depicted wearing various items of clothing over the years. The popularity of green is merely that currently favoured by the media. The only things generally agreed upon is that they are short (a little over half human height, by most accounts. Certainly taller than your common pixie), intelligent, and solitary.


Ronnie Corbett was around 5ft, so very unlikely to have been mistaken for a Leprechaun. Homo floresiensis, by contrast, would likely fit the description rather well and it's not that long since they walked the earth.
