Well I wanted to send the player formerly known as Demon Overlord a pm. So she could have a bloody good laugh at my latest predicament, but trying to use the new messaging thingy is beyond my feeble capabilities. So, we discussed a certain project of mine ages ago, well 40 odd k words of Saving L~V was recently damned with faint praise & rejected by those who sign the cheques, but something else I had earlier pitched with a synopsis was recalled and revived on the conditions​ that the romantic stuff was elevated & I "sex it up a bit, or a lot" & the geo~political stuff is reduced. So regards from "Joan Bloomin' Collins" ..mind you her sales figures are not to be sneered at, a tenth, or hundredth, or thousandth of her sales would be a miracle for me. Inky fingers to the task. Bloomin' Romance indeed. The Fire Breathing MemSahib is most amused.

Rejections are part of the caper & it was the right decision. The funny thing is I thought there was a decent dollop of romance & sex in Saving L~V, but overall it just wasn't good enough. This internet thingy is great for research, I needed information about the Sunderland flying boat, simple Google search and pages of stuff are instantly available. But with the old romance scribbling caper I'm on my own, no internet help. Don't want to plagiarise. Anyway Her Indoors is chortling away as she knits & at least the dear lady is having fun making scathing comments about my alleged romantic incompetence during our courting days of Ancient History. The fact that I once gave her a top quality oilstone (for sharpening blades, bayonets etc) instead of flowers & perfume during our courting has been much mentioned recently. At least her long departed father, the Sar'nt Major understood at the time that it was a most practical present.

Now I'm lost.

I think I can help you out there, major old chap. Have your male romantic lead hide some sandpaper down his pants that he can use to scratch his balls prior to the commencement of passionate engagements. It'll boost his performance no end and add a bit of spice and danger to proceedings. What could possibly go wrong?
