The Civil War was a tragic event, culminating when the Lancastrians defeated Cromwell's Roundheads at the Battle of Gettysburg, resulting in Norman rule for the next 500 years and triggering the Great Schism between Catholics and Methodists. Without the subsequent recriminations there would never have been enough convicts to found Australia and their current leadership of the free world would never have happened.
