Forum blocking is not good enough

#1 Post by peterlund » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:21 pm

In the new forum, I have blocked one spamming troll on this site, but still I see way too much from this troll. The front page summary does not completely filter this person away from my view. I would love also the new forum and front page to do it equally good as the old forum did. I hope this is not too much to ask?

(The other issue is of course why this spamming troll still is on this site, but that is another issue)

And blocking threads from appearing on the front page would be nice.

The problem is that would mean caching the forum for everyone, rather than everyone sharing one. We used to get around this with some custom in-browser filtering, but we can't do that with phpBB.

I'll take a look at the server load and will decide if it'd be okay for us to generate these live / per-user.
