Re: Gunboat Strategy: France

I like the Maginot opening, but you should defintely consider Zig: F Brest -> Mid-Atlantic Ocean A Paris -> Gascony A Marseilles -> Burgundy -or- Zag: F Brest -> Mid-Atlantic Ocean A Paris -> Burgundy A Marseilles -> Gascony (I don't know the official names) A_Tin_Can argued in favour of Zag in the ...

I remember a best-Austria price for 0 centres. He got it because he was eliminated the latest of all Austrias.

Re: Diplomacy Academy 5: Valuing Stabs

Wow, #3 was really something I needed to see. I was doing some things right subconsciously, but there's definitely some tips I'm taking away from that. Specifically, I feel I failed in a.o. this area during the last ODC.

Thanks!

Re: Mentor Program Workshop 1.18

I would've questioned this part: "What if you were to move it to Silesia, and then to Bohemia, while moving Moscow into Ukraine and then Galicia, with Sevastopol hitting Rumania in the Spring ?" That's a weird thing to say after just having agreed on a bounce in the Blacksea. It's also not a good re...

I'm a developer, but into embedded systems. C(++) and python. I can read php. I might be interested to help out here and there without ultimatums. I think it would be interesting to help out on a site and to see how the invisible stuff works. ... Excellent, because that's exactly what we offer! htt...

Re: 2017 Online Diplomacy Championship results

I was eliminated in all three of my games. Was my first tournament of this magnitude and it felt like everyone else was hellbent on my destruction. Perhaps it was something I said. Octavious told me: "I was in it for a bit but sadly real life got in the way and I had to withdraw." I believe he playe...

Re: Some ideas

Thank you for your ideas. We receive a lot of them and have many ourselves. Unfortunately, we don't employ a full-time developer and therefore rely on those who are willing to invest their spare time into making webDip the best site for Diplomacy. Are you a developer? Would you be willing to learn P...

There's no rule against that. I doubt Durga will like it though.

Re: Gunboat Strategy: England

This may sound crazy, but how viable do you think it would be to open with your channel opening and then (assuming you succeed) support France into Belgium? ... I personally do not consider this viable, for two reasons. 1) This is only posible if France has a unit available to go for Belgium that w...
