Re: US authoritarianism

Trump is acting out as a fascist demanding his followers keep pushing for a mulligan like in golf to change the voting results into his favor. Some of the Republican party are supporting that effort including throwing out votes until they get the result they want from in Pennsylvania not counting th...

In the last year Trump made several speeches where he claimed or used phrases that implied Jewish Americans were loyal to Israel and not the US. Jews that voted Democratic were ant-American. Trump has retweeted from anti-semitic sites cart...

It's not that Facebook or any other social media site is a monopoly and can't face a competitor. It's that they use their size to sell user information and advertising without any regard to the content as long as it's profitable for them. Users complaints are ignored until publicity forces change. I...

Re: Electoral College predictions (among others)

When Trump was elected, I never expected his behavior to be so childish because in his show he appeared like a respected businessman. His prez persona was so different. Trump was the same as president as he was on the show. All about making himself look good, he was always right, and no one should ...

"You can fool some of the people all the time"

The economy was being propped up by the Fed keeping interest rates low and massive government spending to bail out the farms and businesses that Trump were wrecking with his trade policies and tariffs.

There are always a few votes where they want to appease voters back home to get re-elected and know in advance that their votes aren't needed to change to outcome.

Trump wants to go immediately to the Supreme Court where he only needs to win 5 votes and he appointed 3 of them. Howver it doesn't work that way and the lower courts can dismiss his efforts without trial on the grounds that the states still haven't certified any results in the disputed states,

In senate news: Mark Kelly looking strong in Arizona, though I haven't seen it called yet. Most of the Arizona media have called Kelly as the winner. The Supreme Court this year dealt with the problem of faithless electors. Now with 1% of the vote for a New England state, Yahoo News is calling it for that state. :) This reminds me of a 1980 editorial cartoon after that election where a reporter asks a senator about his vote on an upcoming issue. ...
