Re: Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns

All 1v1 games on this site are unranked.

Still, they do count towards the 1v1 Elo, but with the same weight as all 1v1 games.

Re: Championship Belt Game Series

Maybe I should've asked what the correct protocol was! I created a new game Saturday:

http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=217150

but I might have gotten the parameters wrong :/ It was joined by someone who is completely new to the site, which wasn't really the opposition I was expecting..

Re: EIDRaS Ratings

@Yonni

Since the exponential function is convex the exponential mean is greater than the arithmetic mean, unless all players in the game have the same rating.

But, yes, there are probably bigger problems in terms of inflation.

Re: EIDRaS Ratings

Both of these are zero-sum systems, so he can't gain more than what you loose. Not to bog things down but they aren't exactly zero sum. Expected scores are based on an 'exponential mean' rather than the arithmetic mean so the rating changes don't always add to 0. My bad, I missed that part. So, the...

Both GR and EIDRAS are ELO-type systems. It seems to me the only difference would be in the weights?
