Re: Bots not entering orders
Okay spoke to Philip who pointed out an issue with the www.webdiplomacy.net certificate, it seems the MILA bots use the www URL, which apparently our status check scripts didn't catch. I've fixed the cert and will fix the status bot. Still not sure what happened with that update, clearly some Apache...

Re: FW: Re: Re: Bots not entering orders.
They are too busy posting adverts for fake banknotes and passports on the forum. Those damned bots. Shouldn't we be seeing some profit theteby, then? Your cheque is in the mail Notably, I think the bots will still work in the France vs. Austria and Germany vs. Italy scenarios but not in Classic. Af...

Re: Bots not entering orders
Hi all, I haven't played many bot games so not sure the best thing to do. Should I halt processing until the bots are restored?

Re: Twitter and Musk
Hard to answer either way, as how does anyone know what you mean by "good" for Twitter and Musk. Is "good for twitter" the shareholders making the most money, the most possible users, the least restrictive platform, the most protected platform, the most dedicated users, the best advertising revenue...

Re: Openings for new moderators!!!!
I'm not familiar with the recruitment drive, but I have offered to chip in and see if I can help with the backlog. Also we're trialing a new helpdesk system that uses the e-mail [email protected].net , with tickets then going to https://help.webdiplomacy.net . This could help make certain requests e...

Re: No mod response
Hey JF1981, trying to figure that out at the moment. We've got a new helpdesk system set up at help.webdiplomacy.net that we're trialing, which currently listens to [email protected] , but still investigating. Appreciate those who are offering to help also.

Looking for paid (US) interviewees to test UI changes!
Would you like to take part in a 90-minute remote, 1-on-1 paid research interview? We are helping to organize a user research study to test new experiences for gameplay on webDiplomacy.net.. We’ll use the results of this study to continue implementing improvements to the game and the site broadly. T...

Re: E-mail notifications?
??? ATC haven't you contributed code?
It wouldn't be very hard to do.. but.. bleah. I'd wait for the phone app which will have notifications etc, I think that's the best way, having to send e-mails to remind people to send orders I dont think many would use

Re: Paid Tournament Through Meta, Signups Open
Once we let facebook infiltrate the webdip community ... Facebook has already "infiltrated" this site and it's awesome. Playing 1v1 against an advanced AI like Fairbot, backed by major corporate resources, where else would you or I be able to do that? I trust the site owners to keep the site ad-fre...

Re: Nuclear power: yes or no?
Seriously you guys, I don't even know why you are arguing with me. *facepalm* This is why: Fossil and fissile fuels are as bad as each other. They are not. All the absurdity about per capita emissions not mattering was you squirming out of the "fossil and fissile fuels are as bad as each other" arg...

Re: Nuclear power: yes or no?
Using nuclear power in Australia is pure fantasy. Australians are some of the worst NIMBYs on the planet. No-one will want this near them AT ALL. Just look at the fight that went on with Sydney airport. It took almost 50 years to break ground on it (it was originally proposed in 1973). I remember t...
