That's a thread that you may want to read to offer some insight into that "style" of gameplay.

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
All of you that oppose carebearing (!) answer me this question: Why it is bad for the game to reward and ally who shared all the game and fought side by side, but it is okay and acceptable to throw the game to a player so to punish the one that stabbed you and made you lose? Either is both to be fr...

It is like you anti-carebear guys want to drive us out of the game. You are just another branch of cancel culture. If you disagree with us, you must disappear. Re: The Carebear Conundrum
I think you guys complaining about the existence of carebears is the equivalent of old school NBA players complaining about the new way basketball is played with all the 3 point shooting. It is just whining. Find us and kill us. That is all you have to do. I don't know what that first part means. S...

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
It seems like the best strategy for dealing with carebears is to: 1. Identify them 2. Pretend to be one and form a "carebear alliance" 3. Stab them at the end for the win. Why can't that work? Easier said than done. Often times you're a few years in to a game before their obvious underhanded play i...

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
Perhaps think of it like this then; An alliance forms by people for any given reason, once it forms they go through thick and thin together to try to survive and after all that time sometimes they end up in a success. They defeated their opponents and conquered the world side by side through all th...

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
That sentence does not compute. You can not win a game of diplomacy with someone. There can only be one winner in this game. What you like to do is draw which is sort of a second best option.

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
Here is a previous thread on the topic of why some people (including me) dislike this kind of play: https://webdiplomacy.net/contrib/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2924. To answer the OP, there's not much you can do; trying to unbalance the alliance is the right way to go, but in at least the second ga...

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
Why are you so much against the draw alliance? We are not all of us top players, we have to settle for less and knowing your limitations is the beginning of wisdom. As I mentioned in my OP. The point of the game is to try to win - anything other than that is against the spirit of the game. A draw i...

The Carebear Conundrum
Hello everyone, I've had a recent run of experiences with some Carebears in a couple of games. It can be incredibly frustrating to be in an opponent in a game where an alliance who has already decided that they will be partners in a draw as early as 1901. While I understand that it is not against th...
