Re: My resignation at webDiplomacy
But really the site owner making sexist comments is a bad look I thought this website couldn't drop any lower but guess I was wrong 💀 Throwing that label around over some internet drama dilutes the real meaning of it imo, but I understand Explaining to women what dilutes the meaning of sexism...yep...

Re: My resignation at webDiplomacy
Zultar, you did more for this site than most people will ever know. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with you over this time.
Kestas, you're a power tripping asshat and I'd never help you again despite how much I care about the site.

Well considering that he fired me for deleting a thread that he doxxed me in, I would say he needs all the help he can get.

Re: Sandbox feature
Having a sandbox is the main reason that the In person Diplomacy lobby uses other sites over ours. If it was made in a way to allow easy tournament game entry by 1 person it would be extremely valuable.

Re: Processing problem
I did think about that, but I’m not sure how to make a rule like that; if games hadn’t been processed for days players have had days to enter orders, then when games continue processing presumably after that long everyone has entered orders. What I’d expect causes people to get booted is that fast ...

Re: Mod forum
You know I’m using the mod forum and it’s not bad .. I like that it’s built right in, the reply requirement is handy, and I think it’s good use of the old forum code. Say I want to add a reminder feature so that I’ll be reminded to look at a post after a week I can just add it, but if it’s in a gma...

Re: Mod Abuse: Szpoti
Jamiet, the site is poorly coded for rulebook press, and if a mod is mid typing when the phase changes, the site just posts it as a mod instead of not posting it, please calm down and address these to the mod email only next time. Locking this thread, you can continue any concerns in the email chain...

Re: Are female superhero movies unpopular because…
Let me remind everyone that while we allow more in this part of the forum we still have rules on this site. https://webdiplomacy.net/rules.php "Creating threads or posting replies that target a member, group of members, or group of people is prohibited. While some discussions on our forum can become...

Re: Are female superhero movies unpopular because…
Oh? Do you think that the views expressed on the forum reflect the views of the American people, which make up the largest chunk of membership? Do you think the views reflect the typical views of the populations of the wider global community from which we have members? Not at all. What webDip refle...

Re: Mod forum
Hi all, As part of the project to improve out mod systems here we've ported a change over from vDiplomacy.com , very grateful to Sleepcap for this feature. It's just a simplified forum dedicated to interacting with the mod team. You can access it via https://webdiplomacy.net/modforum.php, or else H...

Re: Dealing with the Metagame
< Are ghost ratings an alternative to these scoring systems, or is that more of an Elo thing that isn't compatible with our points system? I have no idea. But you know what could be great, having the option to set a minimum ghost rating to join a game. Not sure how easy to implement that would be t...

Re: External account / external authentication linking
Once I've linked my account, when I click logout I get an exception bug (though it does log me out after). I am not currently able to use the linked account to sign in (not sure if expected or not)

Re: Accusation of Cheating
Breaking anon is not against our site rules. Cheating accusations in a game chat is against the rules. The game in question is not restricted so anyone can post about it if they so wish. Nobody in that game is cheating. I think we can probably let this thread die a natural death now.

There are not any active mods currently, volunteering is unfortunately down significantly these days. I have addressed that game though.

Re: Rulebook Press
Can anyone explain to me why Rulebook Press isn't the default system here on WebDip (and perhaps other online hosts too)? I mean, maybe it wouldn't make games that much shorter (although it would make them somewhat shorter). I just wonder why the online game decided to go a different way from the i...

Paid Tournament Through Meta, Signups Open
Meta AI Research is holding a paid speedboat tournament to evaluate their latest no-press Diplomacy bot. The tournament will run for about a month and will involve up to several games each day staggered throughout the day. Participants can play as many or as few games as they like, but should play a...
