Re: please help me understand how these orders were resolved
off topic a bit, but the best way to win as turkey from the powerful position you were in in about 1905 is to bypass the Italian SC. Always go full bore for the one spot that will give you the game as turkey => MAO. Because then you get Iberia, and you can clean out the boot of Italy later. This wou...

Re: Study on artificial intelligence and decision making
Who controls the real AI Dip players? Diplodocus and the others that can actually play? Why don't you ask them to participate? I mean, not to throw shade on anyone, but the regular normal bots here are so very, very awful... They poach SC when I am trying to stop a solo, they are so very, very easy ...

Re: Study on artificial intelligence and decision making
I would love to do this, but against real AIs, that actually know how to play please, like recognize and stop solos, see stalemate lines, etc. The Regular bots on this sight are awful, I would like to play against diplodocus type bots, strong Ais, that are actually good players.

Re: What makes your life worth living?
Actually there is scientific research on this exact topic. University studies on happiness, there is even a happiness institute in Denmark that studies it. Studies have attempted to correlate happiness with various things such as Fame, Career, Money, Success, etc. etc. None of these things correlate...

Re: Lord of the Rings
So, I had player drop out, the game was full, but now I need a replacement, we have not yet started, so it's a perfect time to replace, a brand new full strength nation, the faction that I need a replacement for is one of the very best in the game, military oriented. planned start date is 10 Septemb...

Lord of the Rings
I run a war game in Middle Earth, Lord of the Rings. It has room for more than 25 players, it's not a diplomacy game, but it does use simultaneously and hidden movement, like Diplomacy. I need 6 more people to start. Private message me and I can send you maps and rules to look over, if you think you...

Re: Bot Talk
Those France vs Austria style games are not the real game obviously. Bots should do well there, it's like a different version of checkers or chess. Where bots need vast improvement is at analyzing the long term effects of their actions. If as Italy, I weaken Austria or draw his ire towards me, do I ...

Re: Bot Talk
I have seen hundreds of idiotic bot moves. Like the Austrian player, opening fleet to Trieste... an experienced human player would never ever open gunboat like that. I've also seen, on a spring move, the German take Warsaw, and then on the fall turn, a Russian army in Wales, sitting next to German o...

Re: Bot Talk
Our bots do not even understand the objectives of the game, they are that bad. The objective is a) to solo, b) if unable to solo, then to share in the final draw, which means an AI player has to recognize the long term threat of another player solo, and set up stalemate lines to stop it. Our bots ar...

Re: Bot Talk
Where can we play against true AI Bots? I have read that DeepMind and DipNet have advanced AI diplomacy skills, and can win more than 90% of the time against master level Gunboat players. The bots here are truly awful, they are worse than basic rank beginning humans. I see the most atrocious moves i...

Re: Easier Bots
yes, the bots are actually really, really bad. They have no big picture view of the map, none. They have zero awareness on how to stop a solo. They do not have any idea what a stalemate line is. They never stop fighting an old enemy to switch to stop someone running away with the game. They poach SC...

Re: 34 SC, the ultimate solo!
And frequently, I intentionally laid siege to Germany's home SC, so that in order to defend them, he had to have them covered, so Germany was playing short often, because I pressured (but did not take) his home SC enough to prevent from clearing them to build..

Re: 34 SC, the ultimate solo!
because I take their home SC, and give them non home SC.. Like I gave Russia all of Turkey's home SC, so he has four SC, but no open home place to build. France and Germany owned England's home SC, but they cannot build there.

War of the Ring
Hi everyone, I've developed a new game, it's an online War of the Ring campaign game, played at both the army and character level, it's not a diplomacy game. It uses restricted communications rules, in that players are only allowed to communicate with others they are in contact with inside the game ...

Re: Rules Clarification
there is a way that two armies can actually change places If one is convoyed and the other marches directly on land. Italy: Venice - Trieste ( via convoy) Fleet Adriatic convoys Venice to Trieste Austria: Trieste - Venice (via land) Trieste and Venice then swap positions, in this case, assuming no o...
