Discord for FTF games?

Would anyone be interested in creating/joining a discord dedicated to virtual FTF games? A number of voice channels could be created so players can move around and talk to everyone-else in different groups. The game itself could be played on any-site that supports live games, just with gunboat rules...

Re: The Counting Game

1392 AD Turkish forces lay siege to Constantinople, the siege will last for eight years and will be lifted by the most unexpected power... How could you fill 1392 with one sentence on the umpteen-bajillioneth siege of Constantinople when you could have written about the King of France going batshit...

James I was King of Scots from 1406 until his assassination in 1437. Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407 /2013 of 18 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid, is an EU regulation dealing with horizontal State Ai...

What are we going to do after we get to 2023?
Keep counting, obviously.

Like I keep saying, you don't need to use years all the time.
I propose all non-year submissions be treated as the most egregious form of in-game cheating.

See how easy it is to pick things that aren't just a year?
Too easy... and boring. :-/

Re: Accusation of Cheating

Any and everything is fair game in press to put your opponents off, you just have to remember Newton's Third Law. Coming to the forums instead of the mods is exactly the wrong way to deal with this. There are many brighter and better ones. Use your imagination. Not according to the site rules, plus...

Re: Accusation of Cheating

Checked the game and agree with the Russian player that it probably shouldn't have been made a forum post (though I completely understand where you're coming from). Clearly that England was just going for a cheap shot and was rightfully shut down by the other players...also though what was that Aust...

Re: Accusation of Cheating

Are there rules about using press to falsely accuse a player of cheating? One player did in my game, and I'm steaming about it. The obvious intent is to use the allegation of cheating to build up an alliance against the alleged cheaters. If it was a bone fide allegation, they would have taken the a...

Re: Dealing with the Metagame

I do much prefer SOS scoring, but there are few games created that way, it seems. Interesting, a lot of the games I play are SoS. Maybe I just got lucky? I do find DSS to be annoying, it often leads to tiresome end-game slogs when everyone knows the outcome, but several minors still have to be elim...

Mashed potatoes are actually pretty good, perhaps you just haven't eaten them prepared in a good way.
I agree that fresh made mashed potatoes seasoned with butter and dill are quite good, however that which comes from a box is not suitable for consumption.

It is genital mutilation,
Only in the same sense that earrings are earlobe mutilation.
Getting your ears pierced is consensual, having a part of your phallus removed as an infant for no rational reason is not.

Why all the hate for circumcision?
It is genital mutilation, if we cut off women's clitorises it would be rightfully seen as a crime against humanity, why is it not seen that way for men?

Re: circumnavigation

Mashed potatoes are a crime against humanity. Why ruin good potatoes like that? Eating mashed potatoes is like eating warmed up vomit. Couldn't agree more. You can possibly get away with it in the form of champ or bubble and squeak, but mostly it's an abomination. Those who include it as part of a ...

Why assume they are warmed up?
