They definitely dont learn — and if taught from a set of human games must ha e been from very new players as evidenced by crazy openings, especially disproportianate italian opening attacks on austria that leads to italy death too. Makes no sense

Strongly suggest cancel all games and restart when playing austria where italy opens attacking austria. This is not realistic to happen in such a massive percentage of games (press or gunboat - you dont see tjos irl)so you wont have fair, realistic games

I have never in my years of diplomacy seen italy attack austria so much - the bots cant purely be learning from games … it proves there is an element of programming that allows this to happen

concentrate moves on the human player. Ex i played england 12 games in a row where all 3 of F/G/R target england. I played next few games as F/G/R and england left alone in each game and did well. Thats not random ...

Having a lot of fun and some frustration in the bot games. The games would be more interesting imp if the bots didnt know who the human player is.

Fyi. Eng also about as impossible to play as aus. Both ger and fra attack eng in about 90% of games. Minimum. Starting to cancel games as England too with bad starts as otherwise games no fun.

I dont think meta indicates aus doing so well that italy gains from attacking 13 games in a row ;-).
