Hello webDip!

The 2023 season of the Virtual Diplomacy League is about to begin! The VDL is an excellent opportunity for those looking to change things up from gunboat or press games. Top Diplomacy players (including world champs and several webDippers) provide commentary for every VDL game on the Diplomacy Broadcast Network, so you can learn from your mistakes and bask in your success. Doing well in the league will even earn you a spot in the DBN Invitational tournament next February, a chance to claim even more glory for yourself and for webDip.

Games are hosted on backstabbr and all communication is done through Discord. Negotiation phases are 15 minutes long, and you get to talk to real people using your real voice! New game years do not start after 6.5 hours, so games are limited to about 7 hours, though historically most end after about 5.

The first games are March 11, with rounds starting at 3:00am EST, 10:00am EST, and 5:00pm EST. If you sign up by the Thursday before the games, you’re guaranteed a spot! And if you can’t make this month, check back in for games on April 29 and May 30.
