My apologies to the players of the said game for the trouble I gave them by falling out of the game, a medical emergence kept me away from the last 12 hours and lost the deadline.

Well, if not anything else this map, is more accurate for 1901 than classic diplomacy. England and Ottoman Empires are more connected now!

Come join me over on vDip for a game of 1900! I pinky swear that the game will end in less than three real-life years, principally because I will win and you will lose. Your doom awaits:

Seriously, though, 1900 is an amazing variant that I've wanted to try for maybe a decade or so. It was designed to subtly improve Diplomacy in such away that increased historical accuracy, eliminated stalemate lines, expanded the map, forced players to interact from the start of the game and maintained play balance. A lot of thought went into creating 1900, as evidenced by the massive PDF guide that the creator put together and the years of playtesting that led to the Fifth Edition (2006) of the variant.

Here are the house rules for gameID=48639:
  • PPSC, 39 :points: bet
  • Rulebook press (no press during the "Retreat and Disbanding" or the "Gaining and Losing Units" phases)
  • Hidden draw votes
  • Rulebook civil disorder (with the first missed turn, not the second consecutive missed turn)
  • The game will be anonymous so that you can suffer the ignominy of losing in private
