I don't get how joining games works. Joining a game yields an error about an "invite code". I just want to join a game, how do I do that?

Games with invite codes are pre-arranged games between people who know each other or are participating in tournaments. The invite code is a password so that only the intended participants may join the game.

If you scroll though the new games available to join, you should see plenty of games without invite codes - anyone can join those.

Those are private games, usually between friends. Filter them out by selecting public games only. I'll try to find one for you.

You may want to search for new games (Games | New | Search), you will see there are now some 20 public ranked games, Classic or different variants, waiting for people to join. Just choose the one(s) you like more, and Good Luck

We have users from all over the world and rarely set up games based on timezones.

As soon as you've completed one turn, you'll receive a Reliability Rating. That allows you to join a wider range of games. Keep entering orders on time and your RR will remain at 100%!

I've been here for a year and a half, and only recently have I seen the surge of password-protected games.

I could set up a game for both of you. What are your preferences? 1 day or 2 day phases? Press or gunboat? Let me know and I'll try to help.
