A Note From the Moderators for School Groups

by bo_sox48 » Mon Mar 11, 2019 11:24 pm

This post is aimed predominantly at members or leaders of school groups that use webDiplomacy.

As of today, a large school group of students has been permanently banned from webDiplomacy due to a number of remarkably inappropriate and inexcusable actions taken toward the moderator team and the site as a whole. While school groups are a large portion of our user base and are completely welcomed on our site, those that consistently break our rules are treated as any other cheaters would be. This group received multiple warnings from jmo over the last few years and as a result of their repeated dismissal of said warnings they are no longer welcome on our site.

If you belong to or lead a school group, please take the time to read our rules and be informed as to how you can play Diplomacy on our site without violating them, and likewise know that the moderators are trained to differentiate malicious actions versus accidental "cheating." We understand that sometimes things happen, especially in big groups where a number of people know each other. If you or your group is contacted by the moderators, however, please know that we believe that the degree to which you treat us with respect is likely the same amount of respect you have for our website and for our rules.

There is no need for school groups to be banned from playing on our site, nor will we ever take action against all school groups as a whole. We simply ask that school groups are aware of and follow our rules.
