Re: Convoy question

Mercy, I'm afraid you're incorrect. Ziran and TrPrado are both correct.

The move from Con to Aegean fails (if Bul supports its Hold). 2v2, no dislodgement.

If the convoy succeeds, the Syrian army attacks F Con. 1v1 (not 1v2, because the attack is from Syria, not Aegean, even though it convoys), so one additional unit in Smyrna, Ankara or Black Sea is needed.

TrPrado is correct. I believe that ziran is incorrect, though. I think that if the fleet in Aegean has support to hold, the convoy will still fail. The reason the convoy would fail in the first place is because the fact that Aegean is attacked by Constantinople with a force of 2 exactly cancels out the attack on Constantinople through Aegean with a force of 2, and nothing about that changes if Aegean has support to hold.

Zazzy! Good to see ya. I’ll shoot you a pm

Also awesome thanks everyone for the feedback. I figured since the convoy isn’t from the adjacent territory that supporting it in even through convoy wouldn’t cancel it out. Nice to know y’all confirm that

Hi taylornottyler :) It's been a long time. How are you?

i believe you would need to support the fleet aegean to hold as well as support syria to move to constantinople. but it sounds like there aren't enough fleets.

So the enemy fleet is in the coast territory? If yes, then the army would need to have a separate unit support the move because convoys don't act as supports.

But other than that, yes, only one support would be needed to keep the convoy for each support to the move trying to break the convoy

So hypothetically three fleets are Bulgaria sc, Aegean Sea, and eastern med. convoy an army from Syria to Constantinople.

They have a fleet in const, and Greece.

Greece supports constantinoples move to the Aegean Sea,

I convoy w Aegean Sea and eastern med with support from Bulgaria. What would happen?
The fleet in Aegean stays in place, but the convoy fails unless you have either a unit in Ankara or Smyrna that supports Syria to Con

EDIT:

Unless "support" in the example means for Syr-Con, in which case the convoy fails and Aegean is displaced.

Convoy question

If I’m using a fleet to convoy an army to a territory controlled by another fleet, but that fleet attacks the fleet that’s convoying with support, my fleet would be displaced and the convoy wouldn’t go through. However, if the convoy has support would they cancel out? Or would I need one more unit to hold the fleet, and the other to support the convoy to displace the enemy unit?
