To be fair, Silesia is rightful Austrian clay.
How well does this go over in press games? :)
About as well as the notion that the Adria is an Austrian sea.

I move to Silesia, once, seven years ago, and it's all I ever hear this guy talk about.

"competitive gunboat" has to be one of the more amusing oxymorons I have read in several years in our Forum with More Decorum.
Genuiene Competive pressure is a Silesian Surprise from Jamiet99UK with Peregrine Falcon stealing your scs & Maniac offering alliance all in the same Sprimg 07 move.
You whippersnappers and Fledglings play in LUXURY, BLOOMIN' LUXURY!
When Omnipotent Zultar, Kestas & Daffy Old MM were lads we used to dream.of having a new fleet or army & our Da would beat us to death with a broken beer bpttle then send us off to work in pit 28 hours a day, 9 days a week for 16 years just to earn enough to purchase a second hand photo of a fleet. Young Maniac once licked 183 miles of road clean with tongue just to earn enough to watch a game of diplomacy.
If you tell whippersnappers this stuff, they don't believe you, it's disgraceful imho.

Well I don't want to spoil it for those who do want to watch the video!
But I can say if you watch from about minute 3 to around minute 6 the game is explained.

Care to inform people what DiplomacyWinks might be for those of us not willing to watch a 2 hours video just to find out?

DiplomacyWinks

DiplomacyWinks is possibly the most intense and competitive variant of Diplomacy out there. It isn't as well known as many of the players who have participated in it have chosen to forgo it for simpler and less strenuous variants like competitive gunboat.

The video below illustrates this highly competitive, serious, and intense variant:
