Can someone explain to me why “a” is essentially the same as “A”? Only don’t use the whole alphabet, only use the letters a, h, x, and z. Any answers that contain letters other than those I won’t accept for some arbitrary reason. Thanks.

The problem is not 0.99999999999...
10-9.9999999999999999.... seems more confusing. Can someone explain that smallest positive number?

O.9999999... doesn't equal 1, simply because it's an O in front, not 0 (Zero)

A real proof would start with "Let ε > 0".

Did someone say equations?

1/3 = .33333333333333333333333333....
3/3 = 1
.33333333333... * 3 = .9999999999999999999999... = 3/3 = 1

@ ghug

Given that every two different real numbers have a real number in between them, if you think that 1 > 0.99999999...., could you name me one number that is bigger than 0.99999999...., but smaller than 1?

Good stuff, when setting up forums I would make sure to start with as few forums as possible and then expand if necessary, rather than creating too many categories and have dead forums.

Could be good to have sections for mods requests etc, live games, political discussions, Dip discussions, an anything goes forum, who knows?

Cool. I was able to lock the first thread and then merge with this one. I'm already abusing my forum powers!!!
