I can tweak things up a bit so the number and + aren't so detached. Also I've noted the NaN bug and will figure this out asap.

I could see a +1 icon working but the + is perfectly fine as well. The most glaring annoyance to me is that the number of +1s is smaller than the +1 icon. That might keep me up at night.

At the moment, when I +1 a post that doesn’t yet have a +1, it displays the number of +1s as NaN. This happens whether a user’s karma is 0 or positive. Refreshing fixes it.

Okay I've added a karma extension and tweaked it to work with our template. Do we definitely want +1 and not a thumbs up or love heart? I think the + may be confusing.

I assume if Kestas decided to turn this into a poll and make it global that he has an idea in mind for adding +1's back, so I would take it seriously and vote what you'd like to see.

I think it's just a global topic, so it appears in every forum. Kestas might have done that when he made the poll.

Which everyone should answer "yes" to, by the way.

Here's how I see it.
I love writing and sharing my writing on Web Diplomacy, and people don't always respond to it, which is fine, however, people used to leave plus ones for me, which let me know that people liked it. Since the new forum came along, I've become very discouraged to share my writing because I don't get anything to let me know how people feel about what I'm writing.

Sorry if this comes off as whiny, but it's just how I've viewed the +1 system after the update.

Hmmm.. Perhaps we could put it to a forum poll? I don't mind either way, and there'll likely be a phpBB module that does most of the work.

See... I would like to +1 a whole lot of the comments on this thread. I even TRIED to, twice.

Personally I support removing features from the forum. Nothing good comes out of posting on it and without the motivation of +1s I can only bring myself to do it when it's personally amusing.
