Kamala Harris ftw
It feels like Kamala is the best shot the dems have to beat the shithead out of office.
Both Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders feels like old tired men that that both looks even more like dead ducks than the shithead does.
To me it seems like only Kamala has the fighting spirit that is required.

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
She has several things going against her.
She is a woman.
She is already from a Democratic state (typically swings state nominees are best)
She doesn’t have a ton of support among union Democrats which Trump has broad support from.

Yes she is a woman, but I see no reason just because of that, to mix her up with Hillary Clinton. They are clearly two very different personalities.

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
I’m not mixing her up with Hilary Clinton. There is a non-insignificant portion of the population that will not vote for a woman.
I guess I just disagree that she is the best chance to beat Trump, even if she may be the best choice.

I know the election is in a year but I don't even have a single clue who any other of the dems are besides Sanders, Warren and Biden. I feel like I should do some research and figure out who people like Kamala Harris are but deep down I feel there just gonna lose anyway.

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
Kamala is a heavyweight. She belongs in that group. Of course, of the 20 Democrats who participated in the debate there are only 5 or 6 real potential nominees - but she is definitely one of them.KlondikeBar wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 12:41 amI know the election is in a year but I don't even have a single clue who any other of the dems are besides Sanders, Warren and Biden. Re: Kamala Harris ftw
I don't get what sets Harris apart from any other generic pro-corporate left-wing politician. Is the idea behind running Harris that Clinton only lost because she neglected key states due to her arrogance and had a lot of personal baggage, so if they run virtually the same policies but with a cleaner person and a more competent and less presumptuous campaign they'll win?
I think running any of the usual pro-corporate left-wingers is a big mistake, but admittedly I don't know what their alternative is. 2016 was such a clear repudiation of that paradigm. Trump might own-goal himself into losing to that in 2020 though so it might just work.

I think the answer to your question is definitely yes. Clinton barely lost swing states. Harris is much more charismatic, has a strong energy about her and does better in debates. I think they could run identical platforms and it could be enough to flip states.Carl Tuckerson wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 1:29 amI don't get what sets Harris apart from any other generic pro-corporate left-wing politician. There is some controversy over her past as a prosecutor in California that has come back to haunt her. Trump would attack her as a woman and her record even though he has been extremely soft on crime since getting elected. Trump cut federal funding for local police forces and hasn't done anything but praise white domestic terrorists.

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
Harris is also far more left than Clinton, which wont sit well in swing states usually
Re: Kamala Harris ftw
Nah thanks, I’ll vote for someone who wasn’t complicit in funneling people into their state’s massive, horrifically abusive and constitution-trampling prison system.

of all the ones on the left it would be gabbard or the lady from Minnesota problem with them is, they don't drift enough to the left for the Democrats to put them out there

A lot of progressive circles I’ve seen think Gabbard is the devil for some of her past views. (Even though she claims they have changed.)

Today's Democrats: 'Hey bro, this neoliberal neocon Senator from California who talks about reparations and bussing is definitely what we need to win again. She's woke as hell!' Election Night Democrats: 'Hey bro, how did we just lose Connecticut?'

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
I am honestly in shock watching these people leap-frog each other to get as far to the left as they can now. that aint gonna get it done
Re: Kamala Harris ftw
Trump 2020! Make America Great Again!
Are you people serious? Harris literally wants to give free healthcare to illegal aliens. Over regular folks. All of these democrats are total garbage. What a complete loser.

Re: Kamala Harris ftw
As long as the left stays anti-American and panders to illegal aliens then they will lose every national election.
