Also, I'm sad to see the 'choose your profession' is gone, that was a major perk I've seen in the previous iteration of this game.

How is it determined which role the players will get?

at what point is a dead mafia not allowed to post anymore?
When a mafia player is dead, they are no longer allowed to post in the game thread, they are then removed from mafia chat, and moved into graveyard chat. There are still possibly roles in play that can communicate with dead players, and it is possible those roles can still be any alignment. A deceased mafia person as a result, can never fully be ruled out as still having some ability to communicate with the graveyard chat itself.

Day results will always include flavour, flip, however: for example a necromancer kills a player and then that players role will not be revealed. This action could only happen 30 minutes out from end of a day.

When a person dies they go to the graveyard chat, where they can post as much as they want. they will be removed from any additional chats they were in however.

This setup was originally intended to be a 36 role UPICK game where everyone had a PR role and it was role madness. Due to recent backlash against role madness games, and the challenges that the kouncil has in approving and adequately reviewing them for flaws, I opted to change my game to be a semi open simplified more traditional game. I was told that there was a sour taste in players mouths for role madness and complex setups and if I wanted to run a UPICK I would be waiting a long time and they would push other types of games and setups ahead of mine. I had already been waiting since January and was not going to wait three more months just to get to GM a game. So the setup was simplified and made into 3 PR for town, and 1 specialist for scum. if the setup yields enough players itll be 4 PR for town and 2 specialists for scum.
How is it determined which role the players will get?
I have already rolled which 6 possible roles are in play for this game, and which alignment they will correspond too.

Originally the roles in play were based off the setup of size 36. this was rerolled when the setup was changed because one of the roles wouldve been barbarian. Consquently as well players had been talking in post game about how much they prefer tracker over cop and the rand I had called for a tracker. I did not feel like being accused of adding a tracker to capitulate to player whims. So I was more than happy to reroll the setup and which rolls are in.

I will not tell you if tracker made it in again or not.

Voting and Posting Rules Elaboration
We have toyed with post maximums and raising post minimums. We have seen games with modkills and subs for non participation. Having only a requirement to vote another player lifts the burden of the gm considerably to having to sub people out who are struggling to play. If a player wants to deliberately lurk in this manner, they may do so as a strategy provided they at least voted SOME player at some point during the day.

I have always disliked modkills for being on Unvote. And as long as a person voted SOMEONE that day, an unvote is also an acceptable way to end a day, and will not result in penalty.

with 24/24 phases I suspect that lurkers will try harder to get in their posts or votes to at least play with some effort, and I suspect that serial spammer players will have less time to reach 150 posts in only 24 hours.

In my mind these policies fit well with mafia having a day chat, and relaxed posting rules.

Love it. It's a good thing to try, at least.

Though I am a slow thinker, so if I was playing my quality would probably drop.

I definitely think it's better than no night chat, while still achieving some of the compromise desired by some players.
