Has it occurred to you logical folk that ghug is not guaranteed or even likely to be scum?

I suggest we table this discussion until ghug has an opportunity to further comment on this matter.

I am willing to agree on principle that a guaranteed jester vote today is the best move, if they are willing to hard claim. I am not so willing to agree that guesswork to hit only jester is in any way superior to normal scum hunting.

Your vote may have been a joke, but I would be OK with DKing snowy D1 for claiming VT the way he did. It is possible it was just WIFOM for the mafia, but it seems like something scum might say.

Do you mean all of the other players in the game who have posted? I do not think anyone have done anything as game significant as claiming VT yet.

I do not read the sign up thread all that carefully, but I recall vaguely hearing noise about removing the rule that prevents jester from hard claiming. Someone should check if that actually passed through, since I'm busy

That's a fair point. I was thinking snowy could be the Jester because of his play, but it has evolved to be less scummy, so he's more likely either town or scum.

also i am very thankful that whoever rolled jester was smart enough to read the bit of the rules where it said jester loses if they claim, because some people clearly didnt, or are at least pretending they didnt

I think ghug is playing scummy, and I think his flippant remarks about being the Jester weren't actually a Jester claim. I'd generally say those were NAI; ghug is a jokester but not necessarily the Jester.

Is everyone else on ghug's wagon voting for him because they think he's the Jester? There's always that outside chance and it's not a bad thing, but it certainly should not be the main reason to vote for someone.

I think Bob is just saying that our underlying strategy should be to catch scum, and if we get the Jester, that's gravy.

Who among the logical folk has said ghug is guaranteed to be scum?

Why do you think ghug is not likely to be scum, other than the basic statistics? Are there reasons you townread ghug?

The only material impact a jester appears to have is when the vote count between town and jester+mafia is tied, upon which they can hard claim and appeal to mafia to force said tie, put a night kill through, and agree to be day voted out such that they and mafia would win.

This did not occur to me earlier, but it still seems minimally impactful on how we ought to approach this game. Nonetheless, it seems as good a reason as any to vote out a hard claiming jester.

No, I am not jester, unfortunately. If I knew it would be that easy to win as jester I'd have been praying to get the role.

From a tpov chance of Chaqa being scum is 3/10 whereas chance of any non-Chaqa being scum is 3/11.

Perhaps we should therefore vote Chaqa.
