How would a supported attack resolve-

#1 Post by RugMerchant#9 » Tue Dec 10, 2019 6:11 am

If I have two armies, one attacks the enemy in Berlin, and is supported, but the enemy in berlin makes a move attacking the force moving into Berlin. Does it displace the army in Berlin because it is supported, or do they both bump?

Two versus one, so you win and displace the army in Berlin. Provided your support isn't cut by another unit attacking the supporting unit.

Make sure to support the move to Berlin and not just the attacking unit.

A unit cannot cut support on an attack on itself. So the attack would be successful

The exception being if the supporting unit is dislodged by the attack. For example:

Russia:
A Ber-Kie
F Bal-Supports A Ber-Kie
A Pru-Ber

France:
A Mun-Ber
F Kie-Supports A Mun-Ber

Since F Kie is dislodged 1v2, its support is cut. A Mun and A Pru stand off in Ber, 1v1.

That can be easily overlooked... thanks for pointing it out
