13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: sorry i'm just feeling left out on any expansion and need a fleet in Libyan in order to grab some of Egypt lands. you are after all several SC's ahead of me. Could you not move you're fleet in libyan sea.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: Rome is going for the win, Greece. He will do anything to get the SCs required to win, even have fleets near you to stop you from getting SCs.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: maybe you should stop attackin me if you wish for any progress. Personally i trust Rome more than you. You're the one threatening my SCs.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: Seriously Egypt what am I supposed to do try to not win, especially after the original Greece left.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: Greece I am not going to stop you from from getting SCs and will help you but where do I move Libyan to? That would require backing up a number of fleets and wouldn't get builds for like three rounds.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: If you help me get into cyrene then he can move ;)
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: We all know Rome's going for the win. the problem is that to many of my and egypts troops have got bogged down in the east. Of course i know that Rome's gonna go for me but i can only defend if i don't have to keep sacrificing units to protect antioch. If egypt was so keen on a draw he wouldnt have moved to damascus.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: I'm not really in a position to expand or defend, Egypt if you wanna go for a draw stop going after me, Otherwise I'm just gonna have to let rome march you through in order to guarantee my own survival.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: basically Egypt give me back Damascus, and move out of syrian straight. otherwise i'm gonna keep going for you.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: We were all 3 going to draw, but Greece left before he put in his draw. So it was me against Rome, and I needed SCs.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: well yes, but i was back before you moved to damascus.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: sorry i mean i joined.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: Oh well you said you wanted to keep the Rome-Greece alliance, so I thought you were against me.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: HE HAD A FLEET IN IONIAN.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: look Egypt. all i want is Damascus and you out of Syrian straight, than i can feel safe that you wont attack me and so we can go for.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: a draw
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: but Rome won't draw
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: well than we'll make him, i cannot however shore myself up against rome i keep having to waste my units playing guessing games about what you'll do in the east. if i cant get Damascus and security on that front. than I'd rather keep the situation with rome as it is.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: look why dont you use you fleet and army to deal with left over of carthage. I'll get damascus and postion myself to defend against rome, Than we can sort this mess out and get the nice draw us two want.
13 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 10: Finish Carthage and I will hit draw, I'm not interested in dragging this out, especially for so few points. My chance to win was attack greece the second he left, that shipped sailed.
Good game everyone.
14 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 11: I should be able to finish Carthage by the end of the fall phase.
14 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 11: So you don't want a draw Greece?
14 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 11: Yes is do.
14 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 11: I mean yes i do
15 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 12: i'm not voting draw in case carthage tries to sneakily arrange get involved in the draw.
15 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 12: So then you are going to continue attacking me as well?
15 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 12: well yes, otherwise there's a risk you get 18scs you only need two more and i'm not gonnna let that happen. Egypt i recommend you do the same. You have to support hold memphis with alexandria.
15 Jun 12 UTC Spring, 12: neither me nor egypt are in any position to win. Any attempt on our part is foolish because as soon as we grow you will team with the weaker one against the other. The only risk is you get a sneaky win by pretending you're going for a draw.
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: egypt for god sake why cant you beat carthage. this turn we need to do some coordination to stop rome getting a win. You're wasting units in damascus and tyre whilst i'm wasting units in antioch and cappadocia. Withdraw. Any stab would just gift rome a win which he doesnt deserve.
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: dont worry about carthage withdrawing to jerusalem. Our priority must be to Stop Rome otherwise we've failed
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Wow you take this waaaaayyyyy to seriously, your top "priority" is stopping me from getting a win I dont "deserve". Who says you deserve a draw? Maybe Egypt and I should try and finish you and get a draw between us since we have played the whole game we "deserve " it more.
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Carthage will be gone after this turn. Then hopefully we can draw the game, unless Rome wants to finish me and Greece off first.
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Well contend that if a diplomacy player cannot win, his primary responsibility is to ensure that another player does'nt win. To give another player a win is an abdication of responsibility. I may not deserve a draw, but you dont' deserve to win just because the previous Greece left. As for Egypt. why the heck would he go for me when that would be madness as you only need 2 sc's to win. And would easily get them if both egypt and rome attacked. Anyway i thought everyone said they were ok with a draw.
15 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: I am OK with a draw, and partially for the reasons you suggest and I feel Egypt got the raw deal in a some way, I just don't like people coming in late saying who derserves what, a games a game and I can't control who decides to leave or stay (inherent downside of us playing this online), but if I stick it out all I can do is try and put myself in the best position to win irregardless. Who deserves what is up to you and a little fate.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Carthage is gone now. Can we please just draw this game. It has gone on long enough, and everyone has argued enough.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: he still has one unit but yes i agree on finishing the game with a draw
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: egypt why did you not support hold mephis with thebes. Do you want to give rome the win.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Huh, hey Greece, so like I said, Rome turned his back on you. Funny, people never listen when I warn them :)
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: hey persia, this is a different Greece. So piss off you smug git.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: I didn't have an army in Thebes, so I couldn't have supported Memphis to hold.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: soz. wasnt looking at the map wrong.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Egypt, GIven that you're army and fleet are positioned in areas where they are of no use. Could you give me Damascus. It would allow me to build an arm where it could be of more use.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: But you can't take Damascus unless you move that one army back.
16 Jun 12 UTC Autumn, 12: Ok what about sidon then. I'm just making the point that an extra army/fleet against rome is more useful to both of us then you're army in damascus and you're fleet in sidon.
17 Jun 12 UTC You can have Sidon, but I'll give it to you
in the fall. Let me move my fleet out and let my army in Damascus pass through it to get to Tyre.
17 Jun 12 UTC Can we all vote draw now that Carthage is gone?
17 Jun 12 UTC Ok. Rome are you gonna draw.
17 Jun 12 UTC There you go. Probably the craziest decision ever at 17, but so be it.
17 Jun 12 UTC Thanks for doing the honourable thing. Good luck to you two in the rest of you're games.
18 Jun 12 UTC Good luck to you too.
