01 Apr 12 UTC Pause until we get a new France?
01 Apr 12 UTC My votes in
01 Apr 12 UTC Sure, though I feel sorry for the guy who takes him over.
02 Apr 12 UTC I mean, I'm fairly certain that the original France left because all his neighbors decided to kill him.
02 Apr 12 UTC I wish there was a way to make this not affect people's scores and GRs.
Perhaps, if people got permission to create a generic subbing account so that they could do us a favour and play the game without worrying about losing.
02 Apr 12 UTC Given the anti-multi policy, I don't think an official secon account is going to fly
02 Apr 12 UTC Yeah, I know. But it'd be a nice solution. We probably aren't going to find a replacement France.
02 Apr 12 UTC So, shall we set a deadline for how long we'll actually wait for a new France?
02 Apr 12 UTC Sure, how long do you guys say?
02 Apr 12 UTC 2 days, by then everyone will have seen the forum. if you've posted something that is.
02 Apr 12 UTC I am in a rush, but voted for the pause and will answer all my messages as soon as I have some time.
I don´t think we will find a replacement, so we have to choose between go on and keep playing or vote for a cancel.
02 Apr 12 UTC it is a 58 point game...we could cancel...but seeing as it's 1903...it wouldnt affect any of our gr's by drawing and in essence "collecting" fees for time wasted....due to that fact i will vote draw...as i feel we all should. canceling would only be an even larger waste of time sadly
02 Apr 12 UTC I'd prefer to cancel as I'd rather keep the integrity of my record but I'll put in draw too.
A draw also allows us to see which jackass CD'd. Fuck him.
03 Apr 12 UTC I don't think a Cancel is necessary, as the degree to which France "broke" the game is extremely limited as he was already under attack by three powers, and his NMRs probably only delayed his demise by a season or two at most.

Consequently, I do not believe that the integrity of this game has been compromised in a significant way. I would be happy to either continue playing the game, or have a six-way draw if such is desired.

That said, if we do six-way, I _strongly_ recommend that we eliminate France first. Why? Because this exact same situation happened to me in a game a few months back. I was Turkey, and France got attacked early. France CD'd, and everyone began to vote draw. At the last minute, France conveniently showed up again, getting included in a seven-way draw. The exact same thing nearly happened in a World game I recently finished, though fortunately we caught the guy and cancelled our Draw votes.
03 Apr 12 UTC I can agree to that.

Although France leaving didn't ruin the game *that* much, it still unbalances it enough to make it feel silly.
03 Apr 12 UTC I'm not sure if it is even silly. The only thing that France's NMR has done so far is that it allowed me to capture Marsailles, and that is assuming that Gascony would not have favored defending Paris, Brest, or Spain.
03 Apr 12 UTC France and England had an agreement to support Gascony to Marseilles.
03 Apr 12 UTC ...Oh.
03 Apr 12 UTC We did? News to me.

I agree with the premise that we eliminate France and then draw, just to prevent someone point farming, and so we can ad someone who CDs in a passworded game to our personal shitlists if we want to.
03 Apr 12 UTC I don't see how France would sneak in. The last person just has to look before hitting draw...
03 Apr 12 UTC I can accept any solution you guys come to.
03 Apr 12 UTC How about this... everyone vote draw and I'll be the last to draw and ensure that france is not a participant (as in, I guarantee france will not be a part of the draw).
03 Apr 12 UTC Very well.
03 Apr 12 UTC Oh hey, France was Boner. Yeah, he hasn't been online for over a week.
05 Apr 12 UTC Damn - I was enjoying that until France pissed off. Thanks for the game guys
