18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Ok i would like to make a comment. Some of us are playing two games currently, against some of the same people. please try to remember that these are only games and what is done and said in one game should not influence your play in the other.
here endith the lesson
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1901: this is poker you play the man (lady) not the hand.
hahaha
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1901: lol
19 Jan 09 UTC WTF, i said go north dame you north!
19 Jan 09 UTC ???
19 Jan 09 UTC Snelly is pretending that he is at odds with Neville
19 Jan 09 UTC It's called a "ruse," which is Swiss for "bull droppings."
19 Jan 09 UTC Ruses in this game usually end up being veiled attacks.
19 Jan 09 UTC The only purely swiss language is Romanche but what does Switzerland have to do with it? I am the only one there and I have nothing to do with Harvey heading into Austria!
19 Jan 09 UTC I see, so Harv is facing insubordination from his own troops? Sometimes his quips are a little hard to follow....
19 Jan 09 UTC Hello all...

Well, it appears that our experiment to conduct a friendly, fun TAG Diplomacy game using an external moderator has been a failure. Since the latest two games (3a and 4) have begun:

- I have had two players making complaints that they are being 'picked on' (they should have read the disclaimer on the invite)
- I have had three complaints regarding cliques and outside player 'associations' poisoning the game
- I have had one instant where a player was called a 'c*nt' in correspondence associated with the game.

I had thought that you would have all used your heads (and common sense) when playing these online games, but I did not realize that you are all a pack of children, and obviously cannot get along in a friendly way to play what is, in the end, A GAME.

Therefore:
1) TAG is no longer taking responsibility for any of the games being run on PHP Diplomacy. You can all sort this bullshit out yourselves.
2) I am withdrawing from all TAG associated games on PHP Diplomacy. My nation will go into civil disorder. Fight amongst yourselves.
3) I will no longer organize any form of PBEM or online Diplomacy gaming as a part of this club. There is no joy or appreciation for it, and apparently, none of you have the ability to enjoy it.

I will be glad to bring Diplomacy to one of our face-to-face meetups, but the calibre of play and comradeship evidenced through this group has been pathetic. Congrats on killing this off, guys. If anyone else is foolish enough to try and organize this, send me an email, and I'll send you what notes I have.

- Sandy
19 Jan 09 UTC Sandy, no one is saying you are responsible for these php games, and I don't see the association with TAG? I see php as a separate entity where anything goes. I think you should not feel responsible for anything going on, you are a player, just like us, and no one is expecting anything more from you (well, I know I'm not). Please stay in the game, I think we can all say we enjoy playing with you. Diplo is an inflammatory game, we all realize this, no one should be asking you to provide censorship, monitoring or guidance. Please stay...that's my vote anyways :(
19 Jan 09 UTC Unfortunately, all of the complaints and general BS stemming from these events come to me through the TAG channels. That's why I'm dropping out, and having nothing to do with any Dip game that has "TAG" in the title.
If any of you want to organize a game that happens to contain TAG members (the password option works best for this), then I'd be happy to play. But I simply can't play in an atmosphere that I do not enjoy, and where people cannot control themselves or their mail messages.
19 Jan 09 UTC I am SOOOOO staying out of this.
19 Jan 09 UTC Wow every attempt to play this game has gone to hell. Perhaps Sandy is right. I didn't realize anything was wrong in this one am I out of the loop?
19 Jan 09 UTC Nothing is wrong with this one as far as I know? Is there Sandy?
19 Jan 09 UTC I am even playing nice with Neville! What more can you ask for? :P
19 Jan 09 UTC As I said before - it's not the online part that I mind, and I'm all for playing in games with fellow TAGgers. But I can't organize any more of these under the TAG umbrella, because as a club, I'm responsible for the general conduct of the game. I can;t endorse what has gone on, and I apparently have no ability to trust people to use their fucking common sense to avoid being mean-spirited.
19 Jan 09 UTC Well she wants me to believe she is playing nice :)
19 Jan 09 UTC :P Watch it Neville...notice how I even call you by your proper name and not your infamous nickname? Do you realize how difficult that is for me? LOL
19 Jan 09 UTC Well it is getting close to bed time for me. I would appreciate it if this one could continue but if you have had problems with this one too Sandy I would understand and this will be the last Tag Dip game I join. I hope to see you guys in another one then
19 Jan 09 UTC The problems were not in this game, but in game #3a. However, as this is under the TAG umbrella, I'm dropping it.
