12 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1901: We apologise for the rather frigid delay. I fear we were stuck in a snow drift.
Please, carry on, all.
12 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Some interesting first moves--and non-moves.
12 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: for the love of pete....how long is this "end of phase"? :-)
12 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: 18 hours, or until everyone finalizes.
13 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1902: I feel like a big purple Grimace over here.
13 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1902: And I'm the Hamburglar!
15 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1903: oh hell
15 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: I may be on my last leg but, you're looking a little cut-off there England.
16 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: I feel as though this would be a good time to say thanks for being my first dip. Game, guys!
16 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: Italy just tried a backstab....tsk tsk...lol
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: gee, shucks!
my bad!
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: Naughty!
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: indeed....all jokes aside. If he'll try it with me, he'll try it with you. Be careful.
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: then again, I guess that's how you get 1700+ points
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: I keep most of my alliances, but someone has to be lied to at the beginning, or I'd have no where to go.
17 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1904: we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. I know I'd rather someone just not reach out or communicate with me than outright lie dishonorably...but I recognize that this diplomacy community (not just this game) embraces the backstabbing part of diplomacy MUCH more than the alliance part.
17 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1904: I know that there are a few schools of thought on this one...IMHO lying is in integral part of the game - it's all about having a god BS meter.
17 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1904: in real life I'd agree, but over the computer it's well nigh impossible to detect bs. I'd say your actions are dishonorable, but I'd never say you're stupid...you don't get the results you have by being stupid...:-)
19 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I think lying and making it look good is an intrinsic part of this game.
19 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm not saying everyone plays and lies about every move they make but, a lie leading to a backstab is the way it goes.
19 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1905: GameMaster: Captain Dave has taken over Turkey.
19 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1905: that's why I prefer real life diplomacy.....then you have to really pull off a lie....and face them afterwords. On here it's all behind screens.
22 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: better to burn out than fade away!

I had fun guys!
22 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: One down...
22 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: Hey! I'm fading away on my own terms!
22 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: Mostly
