27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Not Austria :D
28 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Austria is actually an interesting country to play because of the options you have.
In fact, if you manage to survive until 1903/1904, there's a good chance you'll be one of the major players on the continent by then.
But for the lulz: Not Austria, too :D
30 Jan 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Never trust Italy.
06 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1904: AUSTRIA declares itself to be in a state of Civil Disorder
06 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1904: :(
12 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: Austria is a dog of a country to have to play, probably the most dificult of all 7
13 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: and Italy the 2. most dificult.
13 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: No, that's Germany.
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: Germany is easier to play than Italy, you can grab 3 supply centers on your first turn if you play your cards correctly.
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: Also, are we going to draw once Austria is gone?
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: I'll take him out unless anybody else wants to.
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: gee thanks
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: You're welcome.
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: please, kill him fast.
13 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: Will do.
14 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: Drawing now?
14 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: We need one more turn for Austria to be eliminated
14 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: btw, regarding the Italy/Germany debate I'd have to say they both have their difficulties. Germany, like Austria, can be attacked from three sides if they play their cards wrong (or if alliances simply fall against them) but have plenty of room for expansion. Italy on the other hand cant expand early on as quickly as Germany can and has to be very reactive to what happens in the Balkans, rather than decide his course of play himself...but that's just my take :P
14 Feb 12 UTC Spring, 1906: What you said surely isn't wrong. However, I assumed Italy to be the easier country because of it's better defensive position. As long as you control the Ionian, you're "pretty much safe", unless something really goes wrong.
Also, Italy only has two immediate enemies, who both usually have better things to do than attack Italy.
Oh, and we will have to wait until next spring to defeat Austria.
15 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: I'd just like to thank Austria for actually completing their orders...
In other games I've been in players have used their dying throes to NMR and delay the final result.
15 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: same here ( being in games where players deliberately hold things up when they are in strife / getting wiped out ) I won't say I have never done that myself, I have.
But it's a fairly weak way to extract revenge.

I worry that I might get done for the meta gaming thingy when i go on the "hunt"
for players who have stabbed me in a previous game.
I mean how can anyone expect you to not go for a bit (or a lot ) of payback when
there has been a severe backstab in a previous game.

This game is an example of one that I would NOT seek revenge for,
I got Austria, which is always extremely dificult to play,
& there was no gross deception or major backstab involved in my defeat.
15 Feb 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: I can only say that I agree to what was previously said.
Good game and thank you, everybody!
