06 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: the f is turkey at?
06 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: Sorry, Turkey is completely new to Diplomacy and thus a little slow. Apologies to accomplished diplomats :)
06 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: Sorry, Turkey is completely new to Diplomacy and thus a little slow. Apologies to accomplished diplomats :)
06 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: .... technical question: can one delete duplicate posts? and if so, how?
07 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: i dont think so
09 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: and now the game has TRULY begun. ITS A GENTLEMAN'S CHALLENGE!!!
09 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: thats not a wkuk reference is it?
09 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: sir, you seem to be peeing upon my leg.
09 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: but i do believe your leg is interrupting my pee stream
17 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Alo everyone - I've hopped in for France. Diplomacy on!
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Can we put this game on pause? I'm going out of town for thanksgiving and reliable internet access is not a give.
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: not a given*
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Are you going to be available for the next 3 or 4 days leading up to the holiday?
If so, we could continue to play until then, correct?
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Yes, I'll be around, and most likely playing through the holiday... since I program these beasts for a living, I'm never away for too long at a stretch. What are your plans?
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: I'm fine with whatever arrangements need to be made to accommodate everybody. No hurry.
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: hi
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: I can't do that, I'm actually leaving monday morning and wont be back until sunday evening of next week.
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: To move things along, I'm going to ask Austria (who is my son, who jumped in to this game without asking when he first joined the site a few days ago) to destroy the fleet in Alb. According to the rules as I read them, that's what the adjudicator would do if he were to take no action. Any objections?
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: As I read the timelines, Turkey, it appears that Italy is requesting that we put this game on a 7 day pause starting in less than 24 hours. If that is the case (though I have yet to see repsonses from everyone either accepting or rejecting the pause request), then nothing is required to speed up the game. We have to wait anyways.
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: True enough. I thought maybe it would help us get another round in before the break, but unless we get unanimous approval, I'd rather wait and let the game decide. That way there's no question of fairness.
20 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Italy....do you need the game paused after the build phase and prior to the Spring 1906 moves?
21 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: yes. sorry guys :/
21 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Ok Italy, Your request for the pause seems reasonable. Please let us know when you return.
21 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Sure Italy - paused away.
21 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: France, I see you hit pause, but you also submitted move orders. Please honor the request for pause and back your move orders out. Thanks.
21 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: England, did you mean to vote Pause and just hit the wrong button?
22 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: yes I did;)
Sorry
22 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Well this turned into a comedy of errors...
No orders should have been submitted.
However, had everyone hit the pause button, the orders would not have gone through. Since, one was marked draw instead of pause, the orders did go through.
It has been my experience that when something like this happens, you return the units to where they were before the errors.
In this case, Eng would move back to Mar with their fleet and France would move their army out of Mar and back to Gas.
Any thoughts?
22 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I have no objection to that. After that, I guess we'd all just hold through fall 1906, and resume in spring 1907 so we're back on the right cycle?
22 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: (once we resume play after the break, of course....)
22 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I see - I'm sorry about that. Yes, I will comply with moving anything back.
23 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Ok I will move back.
28 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I'm back gentlemen. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I also hope you're all ready to finish this game. I took note of the messages left while I was gone. We are all going to hold for a turn correct?
28 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I think so... it's been a few days. England and France need to move back to their Autumn 1905 positions.
28 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I believe that Eng and France will need to be the only 2 to move for this fall move. After Eng retreats to the GOL with this retreat move, Eng and France must "correct" the spring move in the fall. Otherwise, the errors will compound as Eng will lose a SC and France will gain one (which will then require another year to correct). By correcting the error with the fall move, it should put us totally back on track for all of us to move with the spring 1907 move. Thoughts?
28 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Everyone must choose the "Unpause" button for the game to continue!!!
28 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Done.
29 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: shall we continue gentlemen?
29 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Just one more Unpause to go!!
29 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Here we go!
30 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: okay...this move is Eng back to Mar with his GOL fleet and France back to Gas with his Mar army...and the rest of us hold, right?
30 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: All German units are holding and I'm hitting "ready", so we can move this turn along.
30 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Ok - I'm France: Army Mar to Gas done. All else hold.
30 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Where's Mussolini ?????
30 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: GoL move to Marseilles.
30 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1907: sorry guys. whats going on? we're just hitting ready?
30 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1907: I think we're ready to resume playing this phase. England and France are back to where they were before the pause. Right?
01 Dec 11 UTC Spring, 1907: That's right....it's game on!!
04 Dec 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: so nobody cares that germany is going to solo this? well i guess i don't either. i tried good job germany.
13 Dec 11 UTC Cue Italy for "I told you so" :)

Fun game, anyway, everybody. Thanks for introducing me to Diplomacy.
