26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: Hey, glad we cancelled last game so ManWithA_Plan didn't get stuck with Italy... and so I could get a different great power... Hmmm, remind me why we started a new game again?!?!
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: PS - Thanks for joining and helping out Mr. Man and good luck!!
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: damnit... im russia in my other league game too....
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: im jsut glad im france i havnt been france since my first game on here, i was getting very sick of the eastern countries
28 Nov 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: i apologize for this, but my press will be rather limited this turn. i am visiting my grandparents for thanksgiving
05 Dec 08 UTC Spring, 1903: FYI - I'm heading out of town for the weekend, but will have access to the game on my cell phone, so I won't miss a beat... though I will type shorter messages with the crazy small keys!!
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: can we pause until tuesday please people as somethings come up and i will be without internet access tomorow
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: /pause
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: GameMaster: trim101 has voted for a pause.
Voted: trim101 Remaining: MadMarx,ManWithA_Plan,Katsarephat,stratagos,Sirither,Zarathustra.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: Pauses really stink... We do have 36 hour phases... Will you be around in 9 hours, for the resolution? How about everyone agree that they will not finalize the next set of orders early (unless you get back by then) so that would give you 72 hours... Thoughts?
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: So, regardless of if you have a retreat order or not, if you can check in 9 hours to see (and update orders if need be), we will take 36 hours for that retreat order and then you'll get another 36 for the build order...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: I tend to vary my orders very slightly depending on whether it's a spring or a fall move, so just having an agreed NMR for one phase would throw everything off for me... I'd prefer pausing if it absolutely comes down to one or the other.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: That said, I'd like to see this phase resolve before I put in a pause vote.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: 36hrs isnt long enough as it will take me to 6:00 gmt and even with those 9 hrs extra i cant promise i will be back on a computer in time and i wont be up in 9 hrs
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm not suggesting a NMR!! All I'm saying is that if France can update his retreat order, if he has one, in 9 hours, that it'll take 36 hours for that order to get resolved and he'll have another 36 hours before the build order is processed... If France does not have a retreat order, then if we agree, as a group, to not finalize retreat orders early (thus taking the full 36 hours to process), that France will still have another 36 hours, 72 hours total that he can be gone without missing a step...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: Bottom line, I will vote to pause if need be, I'm just hoping we can work around it as I currently have a game that has been paused for nearly two weeks when it was just supposed to be paused for a day...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: France, if you won't be up in 9 hours, can you check to see if you need to retreat after you get up? If so, and we don't process the retreat order early, you will have over 80 hours from right now before your build order will get processed...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: i have tried to work round this but i will nmr without a pause
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: That gives us until Wednesday... Or, if everyone would finalize their moves this season asap, that would still get us to Wednesday...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: /pause
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: GameMaster: MadMarx has voted for a pause.
Voted: MadMarx,trim101 Remaining: ManWithA_Plan,Katsarephat,stratagos,Sirither,Zarathustra.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: pause it is, just thought we could try to work around it...
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: no i wont be able to check in the morning i wont have time, real life issues!if everyone could process before say 23:00 gmt then i can put my moves in but if they cant i need the pause
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'll be up in 9 hours, so like I said earlier I'm going to wait until the spring diplomacy orders get finalized. That way we all have something to think about while the game is paused.

Or would that be deemed unfair for France? In theory France would still be allotted pretty much the entire phase length from when it's unpaused.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: actually there is a wayish if i revoke my pause but everyone else pauses and finalizes their moves, then if everyone has finalized then i can just leave the pause alone but if they havnt i can just pause
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: Sorry, Autumn diplomacy phase, not spring.
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: did what i said make sense
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: i tell you what someone wont pause in time anyway so i wil find the internet somehow tomorow
14 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: /pause
