The Ancient Mediterranean, Survivors-Win Scoring
1 excused missed turn
Game won by golux13 (100 D)
25 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 2: The official Diplomacy rules say you can just decline to build a unit you're entitled to. I think that's what "wait/postpone" means here. Next year, if you still control enough SC to allow more builds, you'll get the chance to build, but if you don't build now, you don't get to build an extra unit some other time.
25 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 2: Come on, Carthago Nova!
26 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 3: Egyptus!
26 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: So I'm getting it from all sides, then? FML.
26 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: It was my understanding, Cleopatra, that you like it that way.
26 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: Hey Carthago, est you delenda or what?
26 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: See, when you add the insult to the injury, you just make the eventual retaliation that much sweeter.
26 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: Romanes eunt domus! Er, Romani ite domum! (Or at least ready up.)
27 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 3: I'll be traveling pretty much all day today (Saturday). My apologies if I am slow to die; I'll try and check in with my phone and keep things moving at their current delightfully speedy pace.
27 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 4: Slow to die is fine by me, Pericles!

It IS delightfully speedy, isn't it? If only Modern had gone this fast! In that game, you could hear continents splitting apart!
29 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 5: RIP Greece :(
29 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 5: I still think I was toast from the moment Rome decided it needed Dalmatia; a swift demise seems preferable to a slow one (though I am sad to have failed to accomplish much of anything in my brief time).
29 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 5: As has been noted elsewhere, ghost of Hector, you are hardly taking responsibility for your aggressive actions. You were toast when you sent every unit against me and failed to secure your rear. Dalmatia is a red herring, and always has been.
01 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 6: Oh mother of fucking fuck, I was hedging on NUM-LEP...
02 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 6: Would you please stab Egypt already, Persia? He's begging for it! I don't care how many leper-eunuchs with ostrich-plume fans he sent to service you! Come on, be the all-conquering, murdering, plundering tyrant you were meant to be!
02 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 6: Never underestimate the value of ostrich-plume fans.
02 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: Do we wanna do a holiday weekend pause in this game?
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: I'm OK with a pause if you want.
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: I voted for a Pause, but I have orders in as well.
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: I'm up for a pause.
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: Pause is fine...as long as Egypt returns Sparta this next season.

;)
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: Are we pausing or what? Does it have to be unanimous?
03 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 7: It needs to be unanimous
06 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: Shall we continue?
06 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: vote to unpause whenever
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: oh shit almost nmr'd
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: HEYYYYO
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: About time!
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: Knew it would be this turn or next. Dickhead. :)
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: The important thing is that you were well prepared for the eventuality.

:P
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: I was overextended no matter what. I was hoping I could buttfuck Carthage first and get some builds, but those seafaring bastards are stubborn. It's been a pleasure playing with you all, though. Thanks for the game!
08 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 7: Oh, damn. I put those orders in to see what they would look like and forgot to change them before -- no, sorry, can't get through it without laughing.

I'm pretty sure I just threw the game to Rome, or a Rome-Carthage alliance, but the fruit was just hanging there, so juicy and delicious and easy to reach....
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Well, hey, the way you and Egypt operate, you can just withdraw next turn and make nice. Diplomacy is all about the nice.
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: I'll just keep waiting over here for help from Rome...who, you might notice, I've yet to attack.

And I'm taking Carthage with me, damn it.
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Carthage, I think that may be our cue to, you know, start working together. I don't think I've ever attacked you, either, have I?
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Then again, maybe Rome has a point. Egypt, can't you forgive me? I promise, I've changed.
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Bite me.
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Aww, Cleo baby, don't be like that.
08 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Cleo likes being bitten.

Rome remembers Sparta, Egypt. SPAAAARRRTAAA!!!
09 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Good job throwing the game to the guy who backstabbed you. It is 18 supply centers for the solo win and you've left three in definite grasp and Sparta in easy grasp.
09 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: He's trying the Greece strategy. I wonder how that one turns out.
09 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Two NMRS??? Is the game over already? Talk about throwing the game!
09 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: Fuck, I was going to do them when I woke up but woke up late.
09 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 8: What did your hourglass spring a leak, Hannibal?
10 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 8: Wouldn't that make him submit orders earlier?
10 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 8: Yeah, his hourglass must have been clogged.
11 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 8: Oops. Moved that army too soon.
11 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 8: Goddamn that Nile River.
11 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 8: I didn't know you could do that....that's unfortunate.
11 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 9: Persia with more supply centers than he can use...that's what's unfortunate.
