18 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi every one. Have fun.
20 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: good luck all
20 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: France, Germany and Russia only one build each?!? This is the lowest build 1901 I've ever seen...
20 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: Good for you England.
20 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1901: Feet and target practice spring to mind....
22 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: So everybody hates Turkey?
22 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: Well we Brits just love Turkey! Just send a fleet over and I ll give you sanctuary in Liverpool.
22 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: We Russians have had some unhappy experiences in our relationship with Turkey
05 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: [META QUESTION]: Any of you interested in starting a new 101points WTA?
Suggest 24h indifferent whether anonymous or not.
05 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Yes, maybe, though might be taking a bit of a break...
08 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Everybody needs to vote unpause to resume the game.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: This looks to me like a draw now.

In the Med, Ionian supports Tunis, Rome S Tyrr, Tus S Pie
In the East, I can retreat StP to Mos, Pru to War, Sil to Gal; then Sev S Mos, Ukr & Gal S War, Tyr S Boh

All vote draw?
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Can I propose a 3-way draw? (Sorry, Austria)
If Britain moves MAO-NAF and
you don't run any risks and the army in SMY, one Russian army and a new build in Italy can pick up VIE & TRI.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: No, I think this suggestion will give you a win.

If Austria's fleet is forced to disband, he will get a build. That will enable Austria to break the stalemate line by wandering around the Balkans taking Russian centres.

I think Austria's role has been crucial in drawing up the stalemate line and he deserves an equal share of the draw. I won't be party to any plan to eliminate Austria from the draw at this stage.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: You sure?
SMY-CON and an Italian build in VEN (threatening TRI) should take care of this.
Happy to discuss.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: RE- equal share to Austria.
I don't want to sound mean but - this is WTA.
Are you sure that giving Austria points out of gratitude instead of maximizing your own result is true to the game?

->Again: Nothing personal Austria.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: No, not entirely in the spirit of the game. Usually I don't feel loyalty to other players but in Austria's case I do. And with you on 17 centres, one little mistake by any of the 3 of us could let you in.
11 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: I agree with Russia here. Austria trusted us and his cooperation was critical to establishing the line. No deal from me that does not include him.
12 Aug 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Come on England, this is a dead draw....
13 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 1908: Look, I can read the map as well - but let's divide it by three instead of four.
Let me know what moves would inspire trust so that you can sort this out.
13 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 1908: No, let's settle for the 4-way draw.
15 Aug 11 UTC Fair enough. I concede.
Well played everybody!
15 Aug 11 UTC have to hit the draw vote button.
15 Aug 11 UTC Yes, hit the button, England.
15 Aug 11 UTC A very interesting game, I thought. 1901 saw Germany throwing 2 armies at me, as well as Turkey standing me out of Rumania, peeved that I wouldn't let him in. Only one build in 1901, not a great start for Russia. And with England attacking France, no obvious support against Germany.

Happily things turned around quickly - Germany backed off, Austria and Italy joined in attacking Russia, and I forged a strong alliance with England. Soon Turkey and Germany were out, and France and Austria were in weak positions.

At this stage I thought I might win. If the alliance with England had held I might have taken enough centres off Austria to be able close to the magic 18. However, England decided to stab me - good timing; if he'd waited it would have been much more difficult.

To start off with I was hopeful that Italy and I could eliminate Austria in time to hold England. When that proved too ambitious, I tried to organise a 5-way draw involving France (now camped in Tunis) and Austria but neither Austria nor Italy co-operated. France was out, England took Tunis. Now it looked as though England might well win, but happily there proved to be a way to retake Tunis just in time to force the draw.

Well played to all survivors I thought - England nearly snuck home, Austria and Italy worked well to force the draw. Hope we meet again....
15 Aug 11 UTC I liked the 6 center gain in 1906/7 - quite rare
^_^ especially since it wasn't a surprise attack (except for Austria in MUC), anymore...
In spring 06 I gave the win away... I should have ordered ENG-MAO & EDI-NTH - but who knows whether I would have been able to grind down Russia in that case...

Looking forward to the next game!
