14 Apr 11 UTC Spring, 1902: Hi I am the new France player.
have a good game.
14 Apr 11 UTC Spring, 1902: Welcome
14 Apr 11 UTC Spring, 1902: Thank you.
25 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1903: The English would like to call on all the nations of Europe to unite against the Turkish invader. By my count he has attacked Russia, Italy, England and Austria. He's insulted the dignity of France by *not* attacking him and I overheard that he insulted Germany's bratwurst and watered-down beer. Let us all work together to repel this most odious force from the east.
26 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1903: Dear fellow countries,
Backstabbing is one of the aspects of this game as well as international affairs. And by sending the previous message, England stabbed me in the back. He was so happy when i was attacking to Russia because it was good for his interests as well. In addition he is in the Russian soils as well. This is a nasty provocation against me. But this will not work because i officially declare that i will not attack Austria, France and Germany after this point. I am open to unite against the "white men's burden".
People of the central Europe, you have nothing to lose but your chains.
Unite against the Englishmen.
26 Apr 11 UTC Spring, 1904: Death to the King!
26 Apr 11 UTC Spring, 1904: The Italian people have sought nothing but peace in the Mediterranean in order to promote the common welfare of us all. Her reward was unprovoked attack from Austria and unmitigated hatred from the Turk - even after numerous offerings of peace to Turkey. It is clear that Turkey is not to be trusted. After all - he attacked his so - called ally Austria without warning. We call for a united effort to contain the threat of this rogue nation who refuses to engage in diplomacy and has no regard for the human rights of her neighbors.

The name of this game is Diplomacy - thus an important part is to actually respond when you are sent messages.
28 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock."
Will Rogers
28 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Nice.
01 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: How is it going Britain? Are you guys enjoying the game?
01 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: this game is cool.
01 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Is that a diplomacy taunt? Weird.
02 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Excuse me royal highness!
03 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Hey guys, what do you think about the death of Osama?
03 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Is he dead?
03 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: As I was in Afghanistan for a year it is good news to me.

1. I am thankful that OBL has been brought to justice. I celebrate not because of his death - but that good triumphed over evil.

2. It is not good, right, or salutary that we should rejoice over anyone's death. Rather I am sad that he mised his chance to repent.

3. Globally this will have a far reaching impact. Small groups will be more willing to come to the tbale to talk - and the U.S. needs to draw down our troops in Aghanistan.
04 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: "I did not attend his funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." Mark Twain
04 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: @Italy: from OBL point of view, he is the good and US and all the "western world" is the evil. I am from Europe however I can see his point. Since we are asking them to repent, since we are considering ourselves better than them they will always fight us.
I think US won this battle, shame is we are still on war.
04 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Killing innocent people - not just 9/11 is evil. OBL killed more Muslims than the Western world in any war.
05 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: I don't want to support OBL however when and where did he actually killed innocent Muslims? What is the source of your information about it?
9/11 was disgraceful, but it doesn't seem we have found the best strategy to face it, yet.
05 May 11 UTC Spring, 1905: I can agree that we do not have the best stratagy to face terroism like 9/11.

The Taliban and Al quada in Afganistan killed thousands of innocent people. The history of totolitarianism plays out the fact that despot rulers will always suppress their own people. I saw some of the mass graves while serving in Afganistan (Although one was when the USSR murdered some innocents.)
07 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: "A Single Death is a Tragedy; a Million Deaths is a Statistic" Stalin. It seems to me like you are mentioning about the statistics like who killed how many.

Of course that is important but you do not question the roots of the problems. For instance who created the Taliban? Are the US wars justifiable? If so how come?

And one last question: can terrorism be justified? it may sound irrelevant but i really wonder your opinions. PS: it seems like it can be justifiable in the Algerian case though it is gross.
07 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: @Turkey: when do you say Algerian, do you actually mean Lybian case?
07 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: I clearly articulated that the death of Bin Laden - while truly brining justice, is not to be celebrated as a death. The question was if Bin Laden was evil - which he was.
07 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Begining Sunday I will be gone at a confrence and will not have access to the game until Wednesday. I request we pause until I return.
08 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Nope. I was referring to the Algerian National Liberation (1954-1962)
17 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Dear players,
Given the nature of this game, I made some moves which may contrast with my prior statements. I just wanted to say that this is not personal. One another significant thing is that because this is not a winner-takes-all game, feel free to gain as much supply centers as possible before the game finishes. That would be the rational move, i guess.
Sincerely
Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey
17 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Well, since Turkey has already declared victory, the rest of us should just roll over and fight for the table scraps. Remember, with a 47 point pot, each SC we fight over is worth 1.38 points! Alternatively, we could take our collective 22 SC's and crush the threat from the east and his 12 by working together. Let us unite!
17 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Well, that was not a victory declaration but a a warning. If someone betrays to anyone within that union that would harm everyone more than the joint benefit.
Best.
18 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: What are you talking about Turkey? That was obviously a victory declaration.
18 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Can you please tell me what makes you sure of that?
19 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: ok, so?
Austria, was the Turk attack at your territories all made up?
in case he stab you, why don't you join European Countries in the holy crusade against the Infedel?

ps: my words are being used as a joke, I don't mean to offend anyone sensitivity
19 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: "Because this is not a winner-takes-all game feel free to gain as much supply centers as possible before the game finishes." - Foreign minister of the republic of Turkey.

This is clearly a statement of victory on your part. It is as if you are saying, "Well - now that I have clearly gained the victory make sure you too pick up some of the poinls before the game comes to it's conclusion."

In light of this clear statemwent it would seem to be the duty and obligation of the reminaing powers to correct you of your premature "Mission complete" sign.
