18 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: evworld has taken over Italy.
04 Sep 08 UTC Autumn, 1906: Isn't it annoying when people just check out because they aren't happy with the direction the game is going? Then the rest of us have to wait the entire phase time, for something like a retreat!

04 Sep 08 UTC Autumn, 1906: Siva has the time...
05 Sep 08 UTC Autumn, 1906: what
10 Sep 08 UTC well this sucks, getting stabbed by the two people i helped most...
10 Sep 08 UTC that's the nature of the game - cooperation until the stab. You never know where or from whom it's coming. That's why you cooperate, but defend. Especially when you see the third person going out. That's when the game needs to turn on someone. You can see that while I have been cooperating with Austria and Germany to get this far, I have never let my guard down. You also should keep in mind that whle you have cooperated and allied with players on the board, they have also been allied and cooperating with the other players too - and the 4 of us successfully rid the world of France, Russia and England. But in the end game, you have to pick your strongest alliances and be loyal to them more so than the simple cooperation alliances.
10 Sep 08 UTC couln't have said it better myself - RoteBaron, you have not only played well this game, but have summarized the the game very eloquently
10 Sep 08 UTC Italy - you have provided me with support this game and I have provided you with support. My alliance with Austria happened to run depper than simply not attacking and providing a few key support roles. It was also clear that his alliance with Turkey was more important than his with me. So the 4 of us got to the end game together, but we're playing to win, I happened to be the one within reach this time, so I had to pick someone to stab against, unfortunately it was you this time
10 Sep 08 UTC I will gladly ally with any of you in a future game because you have all proved to be loyal partners. I will also understand when the time comes if it is my turn to be stabbed. In fact I will privately congratulate you (as France did to me this game, by the way)
10 Sep 08 UTC It's clear though that I cannot win without taking an SC from Austria or Turkey in addition to Portugal, which is already set in Stone. I have analyzed the situation carefully and I'm pretty sure it can't be prevented, so I will actually publicize my final moves in the global press. Defend it however you can, but this way it's not a stab to those who have fought with me most of the game, it's simply finishing the game as honorably as I can think of
10 Sep 08 UTC Prussia to Warsaw - not to take - I could easily support the move, but I wont. This is only to break support to Moscow. St Pete to Mos with Liv Support
10 Sep 08 UTC Turkey - unfortunately for you Austria has been my stronger ally and therefore deserves the extra SC credit this game
10 Sep 08 UTC triple support on Sil to prevent War and Gal from taking
10 Sep 08 UTC Lyon's best move is to Spain to either break support of MAO to Port or to take Spain if it moves. the move will break support, but will not prevent the move, therefore I will move Spain to Port with MAO supporting
10 Sep 08 UTC finally, Gas will move to Spain with Mars support - If Lyon moves to Spain as anticipated, the supported move will win, if Lyon moves to Mars instead to break support, Spain will be vacant and no support will be needed
10 Sep 08 UTC It has been a pleasure playing with each of you and I hope - in spite of the late stabs - that you are cohnfident I can be a powerful and loyal ally in future games. Well played to all of you!!!
10 Sep 08 UTC Thanks, Philcore. I have learned an important lesson from you: always keep contact with your fellow players. I play many games but with most players I don't have too much contact. I am still wondering if I should attack someone who does not respond (or with one or two words). Esspecially what you told me about the first round was an eye opener for me; I used to think: "Contact who needs to be contacted and divise your own plans how to get those empty SCs". But now I understand much is said and done in that first round.

Gentlemen, I thank you for an interesting and sportive game.
