02 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: I must say, I've never seen a Russian opening quite like that one!
02 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: What do you mean?
05 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1902: GameMaster: godfather89 has taken over Italy.
05 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1902: new player go easy boys
08 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Sorry, Little Italy. Start with a new game next time.
12 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1905: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBlJaPD-CCQ
18 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1907: GameMaster: tenofor has taken over Germany.
18 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1907: think i have any chance?
18 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1907: By the way, that new German player isn't a multi-account version of me. We just both seem to have uncanny fascinations with comb jellies and decided to name our accounts after the same thing.
18 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1907: LOL!! :D
19 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1907: Turkey, you ought to be terrified of us both. Haven't you heard about what happened in the Black Sea after a particularly hardy ctenophore from an aquarium escaped?

It's your basic ecological disturbance tale that goes something like this: "An invasive species was introduced without any of its usual predatory checks on population growth; the introduced species grows so rapidly in its numbers that it chokes out several native species in competition for the same food sources. Inevitably, local fisheries collapse and the people in the region cry many buckets' worth of unusually salty tears."

That last sentence was included to indicate that people did not, in fact, live happily ever after the story's endpoint.
19 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1907: A sad tale indeed. No cteno or tenophore will be allowed into the Black Sea on my watch! :)
19 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1907: I can't speak on behalf of my German neighbor, but I'm not about to hatch any super-impressive expansion efforts to reach that far. Even if I were to try it and have the unwavering good fortune to complete the trek before somebody could destroy me en route, I think the end result would be better described as a Trail of Tears and not a population explosion worthy of ecologists' interest. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be worth an attempt done just for kicks :)
19 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1907: Gulp! Then I better tell the obviously weakling Black Sea comb jellies to start doing push-ups immediately to prepare for the frog-eating comb jelly invasion :)
20 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1908: Wholly shiaznit, yo.
München is about to be munched!
20 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1908: Yummy...
20 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1908: Honestly, England. You should know better than to bounce me during the retreats phase!
24 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1909: GameMaster: freakflag has taken over France.
28 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: How am i still alive?
28 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: Because you are our friend and we all love you :)
28 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: ... well, care for you at least. Love is such an expensive word.
28 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: Why thank you. I'm glad to know my comb jellies will continue to have a place to live for years to come.
28 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: Damn, I'd completely forgotten those, how could I! Thanks for reminding me :) Comb jellies forever!
