20 Jan 23 UTC | Well played Peru - strong game. I was hoping heartland and Quebec would see my moves in 2010 as a sign I was willing to throw the game if we didn’t unite but we wouldn’t find peace quick enough sadly |
20 Jan 23 UTC | Gg all though |
20 Jan 23 UTC | Congrats Peru. Sadly this game was decided largely by a CD at the beginning. Not Peru's fault of course but nevertheless it was a big gift. 100% ain't what it used to be. Must be the New Math. |
21 Jan 23 UTC | Congrats Peru |
21 Jan 23 UTC | If I had been able to keep working with Quebec, things may have been different. Unfortunately, Quebec's CD and the attack from Quebec #2 put me on the defense against too many fronts, and I couldn't focus enough on Peru. Quebec #3 finally turned it around, but it was too late... California--I did pick up on your moves and stopped attacking you because of my concerns about Peru |
21 Jan 23 UTC | And yeah, it's frustrating how many games have new players who make terrible opening moves, then CD, leaving no good options for the player who takes over. Cuba's CD was bad, but not putting any fleets to sea the first turn is way worse. I was in a game not too long ago where England didn't put fleets to sea. Absolutely nonsensical. |
21 Jan 23 UTC | GG all, this one rings a bit hollow since the early game was handed to me. The most interesting bit of strategy this game was what to do with the Atlantic fleets around 2009-2010. I didn't want to provoke Quebec into turning around, but taking Washington DC gave Heartland and California a better opportunity to communicate willingness to disengage. |
