01 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1901: OK so i'm a bit confused. What's the standings for the league, si Game 1 still going, and what's the point system (how much for 1st, 2nd, 7th, etc.)

Thanks! Shalom!
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Just to answer that question: the idea was to use points won via league games to determine standings with tiebreakers done by SC count. Obviously this will be a little skewed since our first game had a different pot, but I'll do the necessary math to figure it out.
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Yes, but how much do you get for the different places?
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: There are no additional rewards beyond what you gain from the games themselves.
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Although the top players from the two leagues at the end of the 4 game season will be put in the higher tiered league.
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: The games are winner-takes-all. So, out of four games, three winners will advance, less the winner who scores the least total SCs.
02 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Well, it's not quite that simple, as one or more of the games may end in a draw, and that will affect the outcome. The end result was the net point leaders from both leagues would form the upper league, iirc.
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: What happened? Why did we not get builds?
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: Its happening in every game, read the forum. I propose we agree to just hold until its fixed.
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: Or maybe we could draw and restart once the issue is resolved?
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: I like the first idea- it's a hassle to restart, and we're all settled in- let's just hold. Shouldn't be long...........
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: Ok everyone just don't finalize your holds to miss as few turns as possible. When we come to a build phase we'll know the bug is fixed, and then we'll proceed as normal.
03 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1902: Roger
03 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Aye, alrighty
03 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: I've got a build even though the map's not registering correctly - did that happen with anyone else?
04 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Yes, it did. Are you continuing on as normal, then?
04 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Yes I think the bug has been dealt with, so lets just play.
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Hey, everybody, since we'll be playing even more games with each other after this one, should we get to know each other, perhaps using some fun icebreaker games!? Or maybe we could just introduce ourselves...

My name is actually Chris, and I'm a 22 year-old actor from Minnesota. I just graduated in May from a college in Iowa, where I lived amongst the corn on the prairie, but now I live in the Big City of Minneapolis. Besides Diplomacy, which I love, my other varied interests include golf, sitcoms, chillin' with my homies, Cheez-Its (I eat a lot of Cheez-Its), theater, and the State Fair. Diplomacy is a hard game to play face-to-face, but I have played about two games a year over the past four years of college.

Anyone else? Obviously, participation is not required, but I would be interested to hear who else I'm playing with for these four games.
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Also, even though my name is Sarge, have am not connected to any military branch. It was just a nickname back in middle school. That's another thing that's interesting - where did your names come from?
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Hey, everyone. I don't have much time at the moment, so won't be introducing myself, however I just wanted to point out to everyone that Italy's making a play to break out of the Mediterranean, and that if he's successful, he'll pretty well lock up the win. I'll do my best to hold him off, but some decisive action from the east would be most welcome. :)
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Agreed!!
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well so long as I'm in the spotlight (thanks a lot Mr. Llama), I might as well introduce myself. I live in Washington DC, and I'll be a high school junior come September (XP). I came to this site to find some better competition since none of my friends who I can get to play are much of a challenge. Other than diplomacy, I play the guitar, video games, varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse (not bad for a sophomore), and tennis on occasion. I made this name back in 5th grade when I was ghetto and all (hah), so it's the title of a rap song. Although I clearly grew out of that stuff, I liked the screen name so I use it for just about everything. I hope this rant has sufficiently distracted you from thewonderllama's call for help :).
11 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: OK, I'll play the intro game. I'm fron So. California, and it doesn't matter where, because I can tell you, EVERWHERE, even L.A., in So. California, is gang-infested and ugly. I hate it here, hoping to move back east to Boston or NY soon with my friends. I'm going to be a HS senior this year, and I've spent all that time in the theatre club. I love theatre and film, and hope to make it my life. My theatre club is the most successful and renowned in our district, always winning the competitions, and going on to state competitions (which we've done well and nearly won in the past.) Whe my club members graduate, they almost invariably go to colleges together in groups, so we have three at BYU, three at UCLA, two going to CAL-State Fullerton. Hoping to go to either Fullerton or Emerson college in Boston with a friend or two.

Oh, and I LOVE sports, I know it all, all the Super Bowl champions in order, the HR leaders- you name it. Go Mets and 49ers!
12 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well, about to get started on my first year of grad school for anthropology.. Am plucking away at a job that's alright in the meanwhile for monies (for grad school/doctorate, actually want to grow up and find myself as an academic at one point down the line), and have only been seriously playing Dip for a couple of months now.. Sadly never heard of the game before I was linked to it from a Star Wars RPG; nickname's actually my character's last name from there as a few of us signed up for a game here and had an in-RPG bet going at the time.
12 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: I am from a small town south of Charlotte, NC. I will be a senior in High School this year. I play soccer, run track and cross country. I enjoy fixing and building computers. I hope to major in Computer Science at MIT (hopefully). I joined this site because several of my friends invited me.
12 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well, I guess I'm officially the old fart around here. Well, not that old. I'm a 29 year old sysadmin living in the south side of Chicago. A few years ago while in search of a new nick for IRC I settled on thewonderllama in reference to Monty Python, and have been using it as my all-purpose handle ever since.
14 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1904: Let this serve as a lesson to EVERYONE- don't miss a turn. ;)
14 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1904: Aye, I second that notion.
14 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1904: Why do I have an x when it says I have no orders to enter?
15 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1904: Obiwan, that's cool that you're into theater! What stuff have you done in high school?
17 Jul 08 UTC Spring, 1905: I am leaving on a trip so I might draw out the turns.
Sorry about the inconvience.
20 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1905: Missing these turns is just killing me :\
30 Jul 08 UTC Autumn, 1908: Good game, friends. It looks like I'm bowing out of this one (and the other one, *sigh*). I really look forward to meeting you all again in rounds three and four! These have been some excellent games so far!
02 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1909: How would the game be scored in the event of a two way draw?
08 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1910: Hey, everyone, I just sent out an email about it, but in case you didn't see it, I just created Game 3. You can find the game in active games, the password is "third".
09 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1911: This is definitely approaching a stalemate.
16 Aug 08 UTC Autumn, 1913: Bull, knew I should have entered orders before I got stuck in Atlanta's airport >.<
22 Aug 08 UTC Spring, 1916: I am back.
01 Sep 08 UTC Autumn, 1918: Sigh... thewonderllama won't be happy when he gets back...
