06 Jan 22 UTC Thanks for the game all. I just guessed wrong 2 or 3 times at the end! Or you guys guessed right. Really thought I could get the last SC but I dont see a way from here. Well defended.
I wasn’t really going for the solo but Persia got greedy and attacked Egypt and that gave an opening. You guys made up again just in time.
And Carthage, looks like you are relatively new here, I tried very hard to be friendly and expected us to have an alliance you going for Egypt and me going for Greece. Well worth looking back and seeing the messages and moves I was sending to help for next time. (Apologies Greece)
06 Jan 22 UTC Thankyou for accepting the draw so soon, I had an awful feeling we would go on for some time. This was my first game on this map, so I am very happy with the result.

Rome - Very well played and respect for accepting the draw so soon, rather than persisting.

Egypt - Sorry I betrayed you, glad we fixed it in time to get the draw, we made a good team there at the end

Well played everyone

07 Jan 22 UTC Agreed!! A good game and well played to the end.

It's always interesting to see how alliances and attempts at alliances play out in gunboat games. I will admit that I was surprised at the Persian move south in S5 and figured the turn-about to defend against and go after the weaker Greece in F5 before Rome got to it would have given us a chance for the two way.

No hard feelings at all to Persia, though, especially once you realized how Rome capitalized on our squabble!

To sum it up - I really enjoyed working out the defence for the three-way. Thanks everyone.
