04 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck, everyone, and here's to a great game =]
06 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Turkey and Russia, everyone is ready to proceed if you are.
06 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1901: It would be nice if half the board would respond to me... =/ Finalized I have.
06 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Serves you right, joining a game with lemur haters and midgets. What did you expect lol?
06 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Personally, I'm wondering WHY I signed up for a game with THREE DAY turns.... never again, mama.
06 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1901: Well, the midgets and lemur haters DID talk... it's those bloody Denmark haters, tanks and idlemen that won't. ;)

Wait, help me out, did Germany finalize an all-hold?
06 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1901: They say the key to diplomacy is to not reveal your initial alliances for several moves. This is a level of play deeper than that
06 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1901: hahahahaha
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1901: Man, Germany's game is getting REALLY deep now.
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1901: oh man, party in Munich? am I invited?
12 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1902: Fleet... Venice...?
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: oh ffs
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: encouraging draw/cancel vote
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: Encouraging other countries to go CD
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: lol
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: hey i am the new russian player. i will read the history of the times before me. but i am totally open for everything now.
27 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1904: OK, seriously? This is ridiculous. We now have 4 countries who have at some point missed orders. In a 3-DAY-PHASE GAME.

Can we please draw/cancel? This is just unethical to continue playing.
29 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1905: You can tell a game has been plagued by civil disorder that by Spring 1905 half of the jokes you made about the names of players in Spring 1901 don't make sense anymore.
30 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: I agree
30 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: Look, I agree that CD's have a significant affect on the game. And I think there are programming/visibility solutions for that (give each person a "CD" rating showing how reliable they are - they won't get accepted into games). But until that happens, this is the environment we are in. CD's giveth, and CD's taketh away.

A wise player - and President Eden is one - will recognize the issue and adjust game strategy accordingly. When it was seen that Germany and then Russia were CD, and England and France were therefore logically going to make progress, the prudent thing would have been for those in the South to adjust strategies and alliances. Did they? No, not really. In 1903, with France and England gathering steam, Turkey and Russia were still chewing on Austria Hungary. In Spring 1904, Turkey took Budapest from Russia and proposed a Turkish/English alliance.

You recognized the problem of CD's very early - first Global notes were 1902. But no strategies were adjusted to that reality on the ground.

For good players like the two of you, I'm surprised.
