06 Jul 21 UTC Very interesting. Familiar names... what a great game! Well played all. Fantastic play Turkey in pushing Russia out and reestablishing some ground against Germany.
06 Jul 21 UTC Thanks for playing!!
06 Jul 21 UTC Moderator: (kestasjk): Looks like a good game, apologies the end got rushed through
06 Jul 21 UTC Oh yay I got put back into the draw after getting kicked! Thanks kestasjk, aware of all the server issues so no worries.
The issues started when I put down my draw vote anyway, so I was ready to concede I didn't have a chance for a solo. England after a long battle at the beginning of the game, you were a great ally to stem the France flow, only stabbed at the end to see if I had a solo opp, but with all your fleets, Turkey's strong ground army and France's dominance of Italy, I really didn't see the chance. Great game all, very much enjoyed!
06 Jul 21 UTC Hi,

It was a pleasure playing with you and I did learn a lot here, especially as I am still new as far as gunboats are concerned.

Regarding the game, I am still scratching my head as to why Russia would attack me as she did.

I am quite curious about the reasons.

GG, thanks
07 Jul 21 UTC I was hoping to hole out for a draw in Anatolia, once wining was out of the question for me.

Consider that even with the effort I made to get in there, I was cut out of the draw. I don’t think I had any chance of making it into a draw with the centers I had at the time.

I also wanted to induce England or Germany to attack each other and go for a solo so that I would be needed for a stalemate later on. Didn’t work!
07 Jul 21 UTC If you didn’t want me to go down that path, you needed to help me make captures—more and faster. (Making captures for yourself weakens Austria but isn’t the same as helping me). The first center I truly captured all game was in 1908 (Budapest), but that one you didn’t help me to get. I had every reason to think you were perfectly happy with my never capturing centers.

The last straw was autumn 1908 when you did nothing to help me and I very badly needed Vienna to be able to build forces to fight E/G. Without a presence in the north, it’s not possible for Russia to solo without completely absorbing Turkey.

Holding with your units in autumn 1908 (instead of at least TRYING to support me somehow) was gunboat speak for saying you don’t care whether I live or die, and won’t be helping me.

You obviously didn’t expect me to attack you, but I considered you to be either aloof and Indifferent to my fortunes, or else deliberately negligent so that I would be hobbled. so I decided to suicide into Anatolia and hope for a draw. (I have gotten draws like this several times in the past).
07 Jul 21 UTC I don’t play for vengeance, I don’t mean that I attacked you out of spite. I mean that I decided there was not shot at a solo for me, so I chose a strategy I thought wood maximize my chances at getting in a draw.
07 Jul 21 UTC Good game all. Apparently I stopped paying attention and cleanly missed the build phase.

Glad to see this draw. It was fun being a frenemy with you desdomona!
07 Jul 21 UTC Likewise Ogion, you really annoyed me at the beginning and it was a great duel, but loved the relationship once France became too big.

And no you didn't miss anything, the server messed up and forced a draw when all players were kicked for inactivity. Luckily I think we were at a draw point anyway as I mentioned before
07 Jul 21 UTC Moderator: (Aurelin): Hi all,

I've excused everyone's missed turns for this game so your RRs should be back up. You can check that by going to your profile and clicking "reliability rating" - let me know if I missed any.
07 Jul 21 UTC Lol. Apparently I was playing such close attention I missed all that.

I was definitely worried about your solo potential
