23 Dec 20 UTC Autumn, 1903: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): Christmas came early. This phase was set to turn over on the 24th, so I've gone ahead and paused it now. Games will be unpaused early (hopefully) January 1st, EST, and the full phase will be reset.
02 Jan 21 UTC Autumn, 1903: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): Hi all, happy new year. Unpausing the games now.
23 Jan 21 UTC Spring, 1908: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
23 Jan 21 UTC Spring, 1908: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): H.mm. I've noted it. Won't be around tomorrow to advance the phase quickly though
12 Feb 21 UTC Autumn, 1912: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
01 Mar 21 UTC Thanks for the game everyone! Solid play at the end made my long-shot solo run not seem worth it given the tournament situation.
01 Mar 21 UTC Good game everyone!
01 Mar 21 UTC Looks like your team is guaranteed a spot anyway :)
01 Mar 21 UTC A special thank you to England for making this the most boring game I ever participated in lol. I at least got to get a Master's in French defense :) Also, congratulations to Austria.
01 Mar 21 UTC Are you saying you *don't* like just defending against England for 15 years? 0_o
01 Mar 21 UTC No! But...I know how to defend my keep - Théoden
01 Mar 21 UTC The West was fascinating to watch. I've never seen England fight Germany and France together, and do just fine, for so long.
02 Mar 21 UTC Yes, I give grudging respect to the tactics but not necessarily the strategy. The destruction of Germany's second fleet and take over of all Scandinavia hampered any offensive. Turning on me just meant everything stagnated whereas if we worked together we could have run the board or at least got this to a 3 way draw quickly.
02 Mar 21 UTC france, i am happy you enjoyed it. germany, gone, i was going to offer you a less boring game.
03 Mar 21 UTC Yes, unfortunately this game drew one turn before I turned off my draw vote. I was planning to slowly come up behind my Italian friend and whittle this down. Pretty sure we could have kept Austria from soloing.
03 Mar 21 UTC Yeah. I cared a little bit about soloing, but not at all about whittling (given that qualification was safe with any draw). You were unlucky that Austria didn't need a smaller draw.
03 Mar 21 UTC Actually, I was going to throw the solo to Austria if it had continued another turn...
03 Mar 21 UTC *insert gasps from the crowd at the shocking turn of events*

From my side, I was pretty much landlocked by the 2nd fleet destruction. Not much to say except that I really needed to move towards Russia (Prussia+Silesia) earlier, in Autumn 1904/Spring 1905 maybe, to then get builds to move against England. Delaying it was a mistake.
03 Mar 21 UTC I tried the same with grabbing Tunis but when the army got put into Piedmont I moved to cover it hoping for a bounce from either Brest or Marseilles. Didn't happen so that plan was foiled. I didn't mind giving right back to Italy I just needed to get another fleet to push.
03 Mar 21 UTC Yeah, taking Tunis basically wrecked my chances of an interesting endgame, and that's the reason I would have thrown rather than let you get into the draw if it had come to that.

Then again, I'm the one who moved into Pie in the first place.
04 Mar 21 UTC I was going to throw the solo to Austria if it had continued another turn...

why?
